This is a couple of weeks later, and Kachina has been told by her father that she is to marry Huritt

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mother was helping me into my outfit, talking on about how lovely a bride I would be to Huritt, how he be a great help, but I was not listening. My mind was wondering back to Wakanda, who inspite of her collapse, insisted that she was fine and that she would be perfectly ok to perform tonight for the next tribe arrival of the Navajo tribe, but still....I could not rid the image of her snow white face, her prediction, then the way her eyes flew open, overbright and shining as she fell to the ground. It had scared me stiff. And then, my mind had gone back to the time when I was twelve, and Nahimana had warned me to hold onto our friendship.....
"Well, there you are my dear. Don't look so worried, China (pronounced cheena)! You'll be fine! You always are. Huritt will be there, won't that be wonderful? And the Navajo tribe will be there! Your father has already spread the news, and they are all overjoyed!"
"Mother.......... I can't do it, I can't marry Huritt!"
"Now do not be ridiculous! You will make a fine wife to him! Now let's go," she said it as though her word settled the matter. Taking my hand, she led me outside into the now bustling village. We set off across the edge, not wanting to draw attention to ourselves,although that was rather difficult, as my outfit made me stand out a mile! We were just passing the longhouse, when someone bashed into me, making them drop a sack of clothing, making it spill onto the floor.
"Sorry," they mumbled, hastily bending down to gather them up.
"No, I'm sorry, it was my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going," I replied warmly, stooping down and helping them. I looked at them. I stared. He looked up at me, and met my eyes, and we both stood up, slowly. He was tall, broad shouldered, quite a nice torso, and long sturdy legs. His black eyes seemed to spark at the sight of me, his thin lips curving into a small, shy smile, his ebony hair rippling in the growing dusk. I smiled shyly back.
"I'm.....Bidziil (pronounced bidzeel, which means 'he is strong') and you are Kachina, am I right?"
"Yes, I am, are you from the Navajo tribe?"
"Yes, I am. Are you dancing tonight?"
"Yes, as you can see from my outfit," I said, gesturing to my clothing.
"Well, I will keep an eye out for you!" He had a very dashing smile. "Good day to you."
He turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, speechless......
