Their yelling was hurting me .Mom and her boyfriend Henry,are always fighting but this time it was violent.My little sister Kelly was crying .I tried to crawl over to her room ,but Henry saw me .He looked at mom and pushed her down the stairs .I yelled .HENRY came over to me and I ran into Kelly's room and tried to lock the door but he caught my foot just as i was opening it .I screamed and he slaped me so hard i was stunned .I could smell the achohol on his breath .Mom was'nt moving I heard Kelly scream and he looked like he wanted to hit her so i bit his arm ."Go in the room and lock the door!"i yelled to her .Henry pushed me down the stairs too.I caught my balence just as i reached the bottom step.Henry came down and kicked me.Mom was still knocked out .It suddenly dawned on me that mom had been drunk .Henry grabbed me and hit me on my head with a flower pot .Then..darkness~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When i woke up next i was in kelly's room and I ached everywhere including between my legs.I looked at Kelly she was sleeping she looked so peaceful .Kelly was 10 and looked just like dad ,she had his same blonde hair and blue eyes .When she smiled you had to smile with her .I look like mom with her auburn hair and green eyes we could be twins .Everyone tells me i am preety .I must be cause i have a boyfriend .Mom has a drinking promblem and she takes pills. we are very poor and live in a horrible neighborhood in Texas .My dad walked out on us when i was 13 .Now im 17 and about to graduate from highschool .I got up and went in mom's room she was naked and bruised .I decided i would bathe then give her a bath and some aspirins . after my bath I woke mom up and gave her a nice warm bath .Then i gave her some medicine anf she smiled weakly and said "Heaven,you are about to turn 18 .What are you planning to do after highschool?" I ansewd "Go to californa " She sat up and touched my face affectionatly "Take Kelly with you " she whispered I was shocked "why"I inquried. Mom just laughed "I'm not ...this isn't how a child should grow up .I put you through it ,I dont want to make the same mistake twice " I understood .
