To the greatest writing family a girl could ever have.

I sit on my back porch
In a wooden chair that rocks
Feeling the free wind on my face
As against the house it knocks
Another chair sits beside me
Empty, forlorn, and new
And yet I feel a presence
As this chair rocks, too
Now who sits beside me
On a windy day like this?
The silence filling between us
And I feel the breeze’s kiss
Maybe it is Erin
With her glasses and her smile
A fantastic friend and sister to me
Giving me encouragement all the while
Maybe it is Debbie
With her inspiration and kind eyes
A sketchbook opened on her lap
And her words happy and wise
Maybe it is Em
Sitting faithfully by my side
Painting the world with majestic words
And causing the pain and sorrow to hide
Maybe it is Sabrina
A Canadian princess at best
Offering hugs and gentle words
Putting my mind at rest
Maybe it is Shannon
With creativity flowing from her
A lovely friend like no other
Her generosity true and sure
Maybe it is Peggie
The sweetest little dear
Incredible writing and stories
Something mine could never come near
Maybe it is Sore
With her poetry making me at ease
Her randomness inspiring
Her laughter flowing through the trees
Maybe it is Erin
Finding Antarctica to be a win
Funny, nice, and ever-lasting
And with a contagious grin
Maybe it is Lizzie
Her stories full of life
A darling member of our family
Making me forget my strife
Maybe it is Evily
Filling the world with bliss
A lovely person all her own
She is someone that I miss
Maybe it is Allora
A sister like no other
Understanding much about me
There will never be another
Reaching toward that chair
I can feel all of their hands
Gripping mine in encouragement
That fills all of our lands
I can see all of their smiles
And look at all of their eyes
Though we are all far away
Our friendship never dies
The sun sets over the horizon
And I still walk this road to mend
But going on won’t be too difficult
Because I see them with me in the end
