Just a short story about a time in my life. I plan to make more shorts under the same main title and different subtitles that go with whatever its about.
~~We Stole~~
She counted the number of mickeys wrapped in plastic.
"5, how many people are in our group?"
"4."
She looked into my eyes. People moved around us in the store. There were hundreds walking the streets just outside the door. She didn't have to say a word, I already knew. That's why I was there. I was her friend, the one she relied on, and though I knew what she was going to do was wrong, I accepted it. We were in the land of magic, anything was possible.
Without saying a word, we scanned the room. People were around, but they paid us two kids no mind. I nodded my head, our secret pact forged. She slipped the candy in her bag effortlessly. The deed was done. We walked rather swiftly out the side door we had enter.
"How do we get out of here," she asked.
I held out my hand, face down.
"Allow me to navigate."
She laced her figures with mine as we stole away the night.
