I’ve looked everywhere
And finally found you
But you’re not the same
Who am I talking to?
Your face is hidden
By a horrible mask
Where has your soul gone?
That’s one question I ask.
You no longer feel love
Or anything at all
You won’t answer me
No matter how much I call.
Now I see that there
Are two faces of your heart
The old you is gone, faded away
And has been torn apart.
You let others change your mind
When you said it didn’t matter
You listened to others and now
Watch as our lives start to shatter.
You played with my emotions
Said words you didn’t mean
Now you stand where you don’t belong
And you’re stuck in between.
What really matters most?
The opinions of others, or me?
Don’t want to force you to do this
But the answer I must see.
My heart hasn’t turned cold yet
But I need an answer right away
Before the shadows overcome me
And lead my heart astray.
I won’t give up on you just yet
Hopefully you haven’t done the same
But will I be able to trust you again?
Or do you have something to light the flame?
Look through the darkness
As a last request from me
Either hold me closer to you
Or let me go and set me free. |
