A/N: Ignore the doll, my dollmaker doesn't work on this computer. Anyways, I just felt like randomly writing something and this happened. It will either be a prologue or just a random one-shot, it depends. Anyways, I'll stop rambling now and just let you read.
His clammy hands were on my shoulders on that cold, misty night. His spidery black hair traced the edges of his face, and his lips were a pale pinkish color. As his steel gray eyes gazed into my chocolate brown ones, I felt a chill run up my spine. There was no color to him. He was gray, black, and white, that was all. He was the strangest person I had ever met. Yet I had never met him, not before this instant. Yet I had come here, knowing someone wanted me here…
The river sprayed blue, jewel-like tears onto my eyelashes, where they dangled innocently. My lips were pursed, and I looked around myself as if in shock. But I always kept watching him out of the corner of my eye. It was impossible to keep myself from looking at him. He was unreal.
Strangely, the night was peaceful and quiet here under the black sky. Stars twinkled on its surface like silver sequins on black velvet. I tried to turn to him and say something, but he wouldn’t let me. He kept his grip on my shoulders, making me face the river. “Look,” he hissed into my ear, his voice calm and layered with various emotions.
I silently obeyed, staring into the river. And it was there that I saw a small, silvery speck glittering at the bottom. Gesturing to it with my hand, I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. Looking at him, I saw him nod to me. “Fetch it out,” he whispered in a voice like the faint rustling of the wind, barely audible and almost visibly soft.
Without question I reached into the river and took out the silvery speck. It was a little pebble, black with a silver glow. Holding it in my hands, it was cold, almost as if it was frozen. The warmth of my body made it grow warmer. Reaching for it, he took it from my hands, holding it in a delicate grasp. Without a word, he put it back in my hands, pushing my hands so that they completely covered the pebble. It grew warmer and warmer, until it grew so warm that it went cold again. That’s when I felt myself changing.
My auburn hair turned black, blown by the breeze into a spidery nest gathered round my face. My face grew wider, filling in my cheeks. My skin became paler, as pale as his, the color of a cow’s milk. My chocolate brown eyes became steel gray, and my voice became hushed and sounded like the rustle of a crow’s wings on a quiet night. As he released my shoulders, I turned around to face him. Without even a welcoming smile, he said in his whispery voice, “Welcome to Unreality.” |
