I ran [well, drove] to Borders, grabbed Tempted, got in the car and started reading AAAND...

So far, so lame. T_T
I haven't gotten past the fourth chapter yet because,
a) Its boring.
b) Its lame.
c) I'm waiting for something good to happen but it never does.
d) I'm in the middle of reading Harry Potter.
e) Zoey and all the characters frustrate me.
Did the books suddenly start sucking or did my taste in books change or is House of Night the same but looks terribly lame compared to the other book I'm currently reading (-cough- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -cough-)?
At the beginning Zoey has a dream about her and Kalona being together and how she knows she shouldn't be with him but she's attracted to him for some reason, and I'm like, "OH MY GOSH, ZOEY, AGAIN?"
I don't care if he's putting a spell on you. I don't care if he's an immortal creature that rose from underground. You're obsession with guys is unhealthy and Has. Got. To. Stop.
I cannot relate to you when you act all "Kalona is baaad and scary but I can't resist him! He's so hot!"
It just makes me scream in my mind, "OMG STFU ZOEY. We all know what the outcome of this behavior will be. Just stop it. I bet if I were in your position I'd be able to resist Kalona. You're just being a drama queen."
And when Damien was "acting g.ay" and being scared of the dark, I got the fleeting desire to choke him. With my bare hands.
And when Zoey was suspecting Stevie Rae was lying to her but she wouldn't do anything about it, I was thinking, "God, ZOEY. Just say 'hey, Stevie Rae, are you lying to me about something? What's up?'" But NOOO, that would ruin what is probably going to be the long and drawn out plot.
The characters all feel fake to me. The way they act and everything. How Zoey uses words like "totally" and "super-hot" to describe people and things just gets old fast.
I want Voldemort to spontaneously run into the story and crucio them. |
