Your dress flickering in the warm breeze
Your shoes in one hand
Mine in the other
We danced
Even though there wasn't music
We laughed
And smiled
We promised each other forever
We said we'd never be broken apart
But I'm running to keep up with your car
Screaming goodbyes
Ignoring the tears in our eyes
And then you're gone
And summer has ended.
