"Now what?" Ski asks looking at Alexiel.
"Now. We go to Terra, my kingdom." Alexiel replies. "It's very far from here however it took me weeks to get here."
"It's over the forbidden mountains isn't it?" Dira says. Alexiel nods. They start walking towards the dark forest. They are silent as they travel a few miles into the forest before. Alexiel jumps into the air.
"The trees here are alive." She says. "Dira. I understand that you are a fire demon. Your people have sided with Terae." Dira nods slowly. Suddenly a blast of fire shoots at them burning everything in it's wake. A young man comes through the flames at them. He's tall and muscular with longish red tipped blonde hair and firey yellow eyes.
"Dira." He sounds surprised. "I didn't expect to find you helping the princess. She's a criminal."
"Tolian. You know that what Terae is doing is wrong." Dira shouts back. He smirks.
"Ok Dira. Let's have a match. If you beat me I'll let you go on your way. If I beat you I take your friends."
"Your on!" Dira takes out her whip and cracks it. Tolian barely flinches. The flames blaze all around them. Ski gathers the clouds and a lite rain begins to fall extinguishing the fire. Dira a Tolian battle as fiercly as tigers. Dira takes a chunk out of Tolians stomach and he laughs at her as his blood mixes with the rain and mud. "Tolian stops his! I don't want to kill you!"
"Why not little sister?" Tolian says. "I'm not good enough?" Anger flickers in his voice. He goes at her so fast that she has no time to react and severely burns her leg. She staggers, but he falls."See Dira? Even in dying I'm greater than you! that burn will plague you for the rest of your days!" He dies. Dira weeps. Alexiel approaches her.
"Dira are you okay?" She asks
"I'll be fine, but we must defeat Terae. I must avenge my family." Dira stands and puts her whip away. Ski clears the sky. They continue on... |
