Barbera-Jo Summers was a funny girl. She had long, curly red hair and curious violet eyes, and she was tall. Barbera-Jo Summers was very tall. No one in Seristaple Valley knew that little Barbera-Jo would grow to a whopping six foot six in such a short ammount of time. No one had been quite that tall there before, and likely, there would never be again. The runner-up in hieght, old Jedidiah Parkinson was only six four and a half, and he was pushing seventy.
Barbera-Jo's parents were just a little bit different too. Her mother was a painter and an ex trapeze artist, and her father was just a simple farmer who was charmed by the mystique of circus life and had always dreamed of marrying a beautiful preformer, maybe a bearded woman, he thought.
Neither of them had expected a girl like Barbera-Jo.

Barbera-Jo Summers walked to school, not dragging her feet or complaining, like most kids, but cartwheeling and flipping and doing handsprings all the way there. You could hardly say she was walking, but somehow she got there on foot-- and hand--and then foot again, in less than the alotted twenty minutes she needed just to simply walk.
