We all have this silly little passion that no one understands. Yet, why can't us writers find a place in our world? Sometimes its very easy to believe that we come from a different world made out of ink. Have you ever really considered just how different you are? Have you ever noticed how, when it comes to reality, you're always one dazed step behind?

None of us well ever truly fit in, so we turn to writing. We hide away in the clean lined pages. We live for the sound of pens scratching across the paper. We thrive for the feeling of our mouths moving silently with the words as we write them. We can bring a new world to life, created out of our minds. We can create anything we want or need.

They don't understand how we can sit down and write for hours. Pulled in and wrapped under a blanket of people who don't exist to the human eye. We lay swaddled in a beautiful world of rhythms and words, full of people who move with grace and are so beautiful that it could make you cry. We see things in every day objects that normal people don't.

Sometimes, its very easy to believe that we don't see the same things through our eyes that other people are. We zero in on the size, shape, feeling, texture, everything that we could describe in writing.

Then you write. Oh how you can write and write for days on end! If you could live off the words that flow from your mouth you would be so rich! Then they ask to read it. Oh how you clutch it to you and declare over and over again that its no good-it doesn't deserve to be read.

Yet they read it anyway.

Then they tell you that its great and you should carry on.

Can't they see that's not what we are looking for? We're not seeking for reassurance of our writing. Though we don't like to admit it we know its good! No-we're searching for someone to tell us we could do BETTER. To tell us to keep TRYING and the harder we TRY the better we'll GET. We're looking for people who aren't afraid to tell us straight up how it is and what we could do to make it better.

We don't hide from the truth like others. We stand up and face it boldly, proudly if you will.

None of us are like THEM, the non writers. The people who don't even try to see something that they could. If you like hard enough, everything's real. Fairies, ghosts. Anything is possible in the world of writing.

We never can really fit in.

A/N: Yeah, my doll totally ruins this but I didn't feel like making one so its a bear named Carrot.

XD

This probably doesn't make much sense but Rose gave me the inspiration so I'm writing it anyway. Go ahead and rate it one star:

I never ASKED for your approval.

I would have posted it anyway.

Almost a year late in reading this; but it still applies perfectly. I love this, Carrot. You and Rose and wonderfully brilliant. Who'd have thought of putting the feelings of the average writer into words?

Its beautiful.

Writers are a different breed. I posted a Facebook status of "Like a red balloon, drifting off into the sky. So lonley." Because I was feeling down, one girl told me to stop being a weird freak and come up with a 'normal' status. It's absurd because for me, that is normal. I've moved off of poems (for now) and onto vignettes, it's a hybrid of a poem and story. I will always belong primarily to my pen, I am on this world not to exist, but to write.

How true is that!

Great job!

I actually think the bear adds to it - you can give other writers more ideas.

Especially when you write a large variety of things. Or get ideas every few seconds, haha.

It's so true, every word of it. I need to give this to my mom - she's a writer too.

And yes, writing is a form of art. I never understand how people can spend so long just drawing. o.o *

Ah, sweet, truthful music to my ears. 'They don't understand how we can sit down and write for hours,' I know how such a thing feels. I'm constantly bombarded with questions of why and can't it be done later, little do they know of what is hapening in my mind and how it can drift away like a dream. *Sigh*

I'm showing this to my family, with your permission. They simply don't understand...

What a wonderful way to put the truth! I need to start typing all the stuff I wrote in my notebooks.

How long it will take! D=

Us writers see a different world through different eyes. Finding insperation threw anything. From a fork or a vampire, we are different. Our emotion control everything in us. We are like superheros with one special power...

writing.

From poets, to short stories, to 100 chapter long stories.

we are writers.

Ya dig?

XD

JUST RUINED IT!

We were texting this last night - Well this morning! It was so beautiful then, it's even more beautiful now. Its the truth though. It is.

We are writers. We see life through a different perspective, finding insperation through everything. We thrive to hear a pen scratching against a blank sheet of paper. We live to share our emotions and feelings through words, sometime so beautifully, people can see right through you. Even if you live millions of miles away. They understand you here. Because we all thrive for the same.
