Does no one hear

Her cries at night?

Does no one know her hurt?

Why do we just

Pass right by?

Why do we just ignore?

I know we see

Tears in her eyes

We see the pain she feels.

But we just act

Like she's just fine,

We pretend that the hurts will heal.

We pretend that

The cuts on her wrist

Don't exist; she's really okay.

And we'll keep thinking

Exactly that

Until she takes her own life away.

I wrote this poem on TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms) Day, November 13. This day is dedicated to helping girls and women who cut themselves, drink, do drugs, etc. We all need to be aware of them, and do something to help them, becuase no one should be alone in their pain.

It was a good poem.

And way to spread the word about TWLOHA.

This was powerful to me, maybe just because the subject is one that is close to my heart.
