Creativity is lacking,
Rhythm is slacking,
Have I said too much?
Am I losing my touch?
-
Inspiration swarms and yet never lingers,
Never remains to feed my fingers.
Dreams and poems and prose of such,
Will remain nothing more than an ephemeral touch.

I’m loosing my mind perhaps, my ability to think,
Lower and lower I perceive myself to sink.
Beautiful and stunning was once my muse,
But now she fades having ignited the fuse.

Is this a sign of my own destruction?
O, dark words of fake consolation!
I have more to say, but no voice to sing
The words avoid me, the papers’ crumpling.

Like a pen with no ink my mind dries,
This is slow, painful literary suicide.
Fireflies of determination fail to bear fruit,
In this lasting inspiration pursuit.

Perhaps this is the end of days,
Perhaps I have said all I can say.
My muse is dead, left to wither and waste,
Of how far I’ve fallen, this is but a taste.
