Part 7
“I’m sorry, but… your Jack’s dad?” I asked
“Yes my dear. I’ve hear so much about you. It’s nice to meet you Audrey.”
“You have? I mean, it’s nice to meet you too.”
We sat on the couch in silence. I played with my nails; I really needed to paint them! Jack wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I laid my head on his shoulder. I looked up at him, trying to signal him that I was bored to death.
“So you two are dating?” He asked
“Yes dad.” Jack answered “Dad maybe another time would be better. I have company coming and… this is very weird.”
“Very well, I will talk to you tomorrow then.” He said
“Bye Mr. Darkthought!” I said

“Jack, when is Devon coming over?” I whined “I think Gina is waiting for me at home.”
“Oh, well I want you to meet some friends of mine before you go.”
I sat up straight and smiled politely.
“Ok, who is she or he? Who ever it is!” I said
“It’s Paige and Zack.” He said “They’re my room mates.”
“Paige and Zack are 17. I though you might want to meet them.”
“Ok, where are they?” I asked
“Upstairs, hold on. Let me get them.” He said
He got up out the couch. I watched him walk up the steps. I waited patiently. It took five minutes to get them! Paige walked down the steps like she was a run way model, she even looked like a model. Her perfect blonde hair draped over her chest and shined in the light. Her skin was flawless and was a perfect olive color. Her eyes were extremely pretty, they were deep blue color and very wide. For Zack, he was amazing. He had perfect biceps on this arms. He too had an olive skin tone. I couldn’t see his eyes because of his light blonde bangs. He was wearing a hat that looked expensive.
“Hello, I’ve heard so much about you!” Paige said overly excited
“Oh hi! I love your hair!” I said
“You’re the famous Audrey.” Zack said “Your way prettier in person.”
I blushed and I felt like my face was redder than an apple. I tried to hide my face from Jack. Zack sat next to me with a smile like an angel. Jack had a frustrating look on his face. He sat in the couch across from us with Paige.
“So we should hang out today! Maybe a sleepover?” Paige asked
“Totally, I was planning on going to the mall. You can come with me if you want. But if we’re going, I suggest you drive.”
“Why is that Audrey?”
“I-I don’t have my license yet.” I confessed “I’m only 16.”
“That won’t be a problem!” She said
The door bell ring loudly. Paige looked out to see who it was. It was Devon, oh no!
“I’m going to head out.” I said “My house shouldn’t be too far right?”
“No but I don’t want you to walk alone.” Jack said
“I’ll walk her home. Don’t worry Jack. She’ll be fine.” He said
I nodded and went through the kitchen. I walked around the Mahogany dining table and pulled the sliding glass door open. I walked around the corner of his deck and raced down the small stair case. I closed my eyes and felt the cold air rush up against my skin. The wind blew my hair in every direction and I loved it.
“It’s beautiful here, isn’t it?” Zack said
“Yeah, I love to just stop and enjoy the beach. This is the second time I have been on the beach. The other time I got in a fight.” I giggled
“You… in a fight?” Zack laughed “Never!”
“Well it happened.” I said
We walked along the beach for a couple minutes. I couldn’t find my house and I didn’t recognize anything around me. There weren’t even any houses near by.
“Are you sure we’re going the right way?” I asked “I’m getting worried.”
“Oh course we’re going the right way.” He smiled wickedly
“I can’t even see Jack’s house. We should go back.”
“No! I mean we’re going the right way.”
Three guys were walking up the beach. But something was ominous about them. They weren’t talking or anything. It looked like they were walking over to Zack.
“I’m getting freaked out! Those guys are coming to us. I’m getting out of here.” I pushed Zack out my way and started walking the opposite direction. Zack covered my mouth with his hands and put his other hand around my stomach. My arms were locked inside his arms. I couldn’t free them because he was so strong. I tried screaming next but that failed. I kicked wildly, like that would help! I recognized two of the three men. One was Michael and the other was Kevin, from earlier. Michael grabbed my feet and they took me away from the beach. My eyes burned and tears ran down my cheeks. I felt the tears slowly make their way down, the ended up landing of Zack’s hand.
They came up to a street with a dead end. There was a small moving van at the end of it. I tried studying everything. Incase I needed the information later on. The truck was orange with white stripes on it. It looked like your average moving van. The same handle and everything. They threw me into the cold hard van. I felt sores on my arm once I hit the bottom of it. It looked like the door was made of metal. They still hadn’t closed the door. I did the only thing I could possibly do. Stay there like a sitting duck. If I tried to leave, I would get hurt even more. If I screamed for help, no one would hear me. I remembered I still had my cell phone on me. Jack brought it, and when I was changing at his house I put it in my pocket! Thank goodness!
Zack held up his arm, searching for the handle. He finally pulled the door down and I looked at my last glimpse of light. I wouldn’t see that in a little wile. I just had a feeling.
Right after I heard the van and some other car start, I pulled out my cell phone. I texted everyone I knew. First I texted Jack (, big shocker).
‘Jack! Jack! I’m not home. Your stupid friend Zack and some other guys just freaking kidnapped me! Ok look I went down to the left side of the beach. Like ten minutes down there they kidnapped me. We went down this road rear by. There is a dead end where they turned. I’m stuck in a moving truck. Cheesy, I know! I know I’m not helping much with the directions but… HELP!’
I think that might be over 120 characters… but oh well! I waited for a reply. It felt like hours passed. A knot formed in my stomach and the van was so cold. I started to shiver and tears welled up in my eyes again. I tried to fight back the tears, but I couldn’t help myself. I had to cry. Jack and Devon replied to me.
‘Audrey, hold on ok! It’ll be ok. We’re trying to find where you are! They must have left. We’re trying to find you! Devon*’
‘Audrey,
We have no clue where you are! I’m sorry but that’s the truth. It‘s already dark out, Jack won’t stop crying over here. Just text us when ever you can. Memorize all the streets and landmarks! I’m also sorry for what I said yesterday. I didn’t mean it! Devon*’
I didn’t know what to say. I was probably done for at this point.
‘Call 911 stupid! Don’t handle this yourself! I’m freaking out here. I can’t give you any landmarks! I can’t even see in here! UGH! Audrey*’
Every minute it was getting harder and harder for me to breathe. I wouldn’t last for more than a day. I knew it. |
