So chipped and swollen

His shadow watches over me
It tears my heart to shreds
Though little do you know this now
Today my heart is dead
A faerie dies in faerieland
A flower withers, shrivels
Two lovers say their last goodbyes
As one gives up and dies

To gain one thing
To lose another
To lose a father
And find a mother
These things that happen every day
Are prone to tear my heart away
And there it stands that single shadow
Watching over me
Waiting for my heart
To finally break in two
I don’t think I could ever let that happen
Not to you.
