"Shh, don't cry, don't cry," the girl croons to her tiny daughter. "It's alright."
The little baby looks up at her and opens wide eyes, blinking twice before shutting them again. Bella almost changes her mind about the choice she had decided upon, but shakes her head silently. No. She will stay firm.
With her new strength, it's simple, really, to knock her child on the head just hard enough to put her to sleep. She could kill the thing so easily, just slide a pale hand along the back and press down, crushing her into a powder. She could tear the skull away from the body with her predator teeth, step upon the tiny body, dance on the bones of her daughter.
She could.
It was intoxicating to be in control of something, anything in her life. Ever since she met him, all of her choices had disappeared until she was nothing but a piece of his will. Whether he cared for her or not, she knew that she was at his mercy.
And she didn't care anymore.
The body is so light, so easy to carry to the stylish bathroom. Bella drops the child into the toilet bowl and slams down the lid, violently, letting the plaster chip. Then, taking a match, she sets fire to the lonely white house.

"Mother?" The plaintive voice echoes in the cold space around her. Nessie does not know where she is, or why it hurts so much. She doesn't know why it's gradually growing warmer. She nudges the lid, but it's been weighed down by something, and won't budge. "Mother!"
The little girl can hear the crackling of flames now. She knows that fire is the way to destroy her kind, the way to kill what cannot be killed. Filled with new horror she launched herself at the sides of her prison, sobbing for mommy to come take her out. She has no way of knowing that mommy is standing outside the house, watching her prison burn. She has no way of knowing that mommy is sick of her, that mommy isn't ready for the burden of a child, especially one that grows up so fast.
She has no way of knowing, but that's all right, because she doesn't want to know.

As the last ashes drift to the forest ground, the damp vegetation too wet to catch alight, Bella stands, alone.
She knows that when they come back to the house, they will scream, and try their best to cry. Someone will probably say, "You should have known better to leave a manic-depressive girl alone with her kid."
Someone will probably be glad about the death.
But she doesn't care anymore, because this isn't her life anymore. From now on, she will be in control.
Until a large vehicle comes along...

Oh by the way, this piece was way depressing to write. My hatred for Nessie made me want to cause lots of pain to all involved.
