Have you ever had a friend that cried on your shoulder?
Ever let you cry on theirs?
Have you ever had a friend who hugs you for no reason?
Who lays on top of you because they feel like it?
Have you ever had a friend who doesn't judge who you are?
Doesn't look at the outside, but searches your soul?
Have you ever had a friend who would give their life for you?
Ever had a friend you would give your life for too?
Did you ever have a friend who yelled out they loved you in a public place?
Who never wanted you to leave their side?
Have you ever had a friend, that when you left them, you missed them so much it hurt?
Who can say something sweet and bring tears to your eyes?
What about a friend who knows your feelings?
Can they read your voice?
Or do they bring out the side of you that is the real you?
Have you ever had a friend who knows all your secrets?
Who you have shown your flaws, and they still say you're wonderful?
How about a friend who cracks you up?
Can they drive you crazy, yet you can't be mad?
Do they hit your petpeeves, but you love them for it?
Did you ever had a friend who's smile could brighten your day?
Who's tears bring sadness and more tears?
I have a friend.
She's smart and beautiful.
A total clutz and unorganized.
Distant from her parents, but close to me.
She has a passion for gymnastics.
A passion for life.
A happiness around her.
And an emotional side.
Her finger is cut, the bandaid on her finger was badly put on by me.
She has a few freckles which make her smile.
Toes that make her unhappy.
Hair that just won't brush.
Shorts that are too short.
A habit of losing things very quickly.
She can make me smile with the flare of a nostril.
Or by pouting in the cute way she does it.
I like knowing I'm the person she'll call if she's in trouble.
I'm the first to hear about her day.
Mostly I don't have to because I'm there with her.
I enjoy our long talks on the phone.
Sometimes I cry because I'm so happy she is my friend.
I'm grateful for her.
I'm grateful for family.
I'm grateful for friends.
I'm grateful for life.
I'm grateful I live in the world I live today.
I don't need a guy to be happy.
She doesn't need a guy to be happy.
We can make our own happy ending.
Even if we use dolls to portray what's going on.
I didn't see her for seven days and I cried because of that.
We sometimes share clothes.
We always share our thoughts.
Her mind is one way.
Mine is the other.
We are so different.
And yet so the same.
She is the Yang to my Yin.
The reason I look forward to school.
