I was accepted to Hogwarts when I was 11 years old, and I had been thinking that I was born into a "muggle" family. My parents took me to Diagon Alley, and we were lost. I managed to get all my school supplies in record time. Then, I walked into Ollivanders(sp?).
"Hello, Miss Dobecki," Mr. Ollivander said coming from a lot of unorderly small boxes. My mum was tapping her fingers on the counter. She hated messes.
"Hi," I replied.
"Okay, you need a wand," my mom stood dumbstruck, as if she didn't know I was a witch.
"Let's try Unicorn Hair with Phoenix Feather. 7 inches," Mr. Ollivander pulled out a wand.
I swung it, and it went dark.
"It seems like you are just like your mother," he said, as if talking to himself.
"What? I was muggle-born. My mother is right here, and she was muggle-born," I said staring at him.
"I don't want to be the one to tell you," he said quietly, and we paid for the wand.
"Mum, were you a witch?" I asked after we got out of the store.
"I'll tell you when we get home," she said, and we got on the train after we got out of Diagon Alley.
We finally got home, and my mom pulled out a sheet of paper that had 5 names on it.
"Your biological parents names were Glynis Maxasad and Tom Riddle. Your biological parents must've been wizards. Your father and I aren't, that's for sure," I grabbed the paper and stared at it.
"I-I-I wa-wa-was a-a-adopted?" I stuttered.
"Yes," my father finally spoke up.
"But I look so much like mum!" I protested.
"You also look a lot like Tom Riddle," my mum said.
"My birthday is right?" I asked.
"Yes, everything about it," my mum said as my dad left the room.
"Okay, so I'll be going to Hogwarts in a week?"
"Yes, but your father and I can't stay too long. We have a very long meeting."
I already knew my parents didn't have too much time for me. I had a ticket. A ticket to Platform 9 and 3/4.
"But that's not possible," I muttered to myself.
I woke up at 6 am, and I got ready to go on the train.
"Erica, it's time to go!" my mum shouted.
"Here I come!" I shouted, and I came down the stairs. I had been reading my textbooks the whole week. It turns out that James and Lily Potter died the same day I was born, and they had a son named Harry; he was a year older than me.
My parents dropped me off without a so-much as a "goodbye" or "be careful", and I walked around, at least looking for platform 9 or 10. A girl with bushy brown hair, probably about my age, ran into the stone wall. I stared in amazement.
"Sweetie, do you know how to get on the platform?" a lady with red hair asked me.
"No," I told her.
"Well, it's Ginny's first time, too. Ginny, you run in first, and show this girl how to go in," the lady said.
Ginny ran into the brick wall, just like the girl with bushy brown hair.
"Okay, go ahead. Try to run in, and you can close your eyes," she said, and I ran in.
'I'm going to crash. I know it. It's a wall!' I thought, but I didn't slow down.
I finally opened my eyes, and their was a train.
"Hi, sweetie. My name is Mrs. Weasley. What's yours?" the sweet red-haired lady asked me.
"My name is Erica. Erica Dobecki," I told her.
"Oh," she said quietly.
"The train is about to board. I wonder where Harry and Ron are," Mrs. Weasley said after a while.
"Ron is my son, and Harry is his friend. You probably know who he is. He's in a lot of First Year Textbooks."
"Wait, Harry Potter?" I asked, all of a sudden interested.
"Yes, that's the one."
"His parents died the same night I was born!" I told her.
"October 5th? They died on October 4th, but it was very late; it could've been October 5th. Harry was delivered to the Dursley's at 5:30 in the morning."
"Really? I was born at 5:25 am. My lucky number is 5," I told her.
"All Aboard!" the man from the train called.
"I better go, Mum," Ginny told Mrs. Weasley.
"Bye sweetie. Bye Erica. Now where are those boys?" Mrs. Weasley asked as she walked through the brick wall.
"Do you want to share a compartment?" Ginny asked me.
"Sure. I'll buy some food for us," I told her.
"It's okay. I already have a sandwich," Ginny said as we walked onto the train, and we went to the last compartment, so nobody would bother us.
We sat down, and talked about boys, my favorite subject, and Ginny went on and on about Harry and how much she liked him.
"Ginny? Have you seen Harry and Ron?" the girl with bushy brown hair came into our compartment.
"No I haven't. They didn't go through the platform. Oh, Hermione, this is Erica Dobecki. Erica, this is Hermione Granger," Ginny introduced us.
"Bye Ginny and Erica," Hermione said, and she rushed out.
We started talking again, and it wasn't too long before somebody else came in, and this time, it was a very hott guy.
"Weasley, where's your brother and Potter?" the hott blonde guy asked.
"I don't know," Ginny said. She obviously didn't like the hott guy.
"Who's your friend?" he asked pointing towards me.
"Oh, this is Erica Dobecki," Ginny said.
"Oh..." the blonde guy stared at me as if he knew something I didn't, just like Mrs. Weasley.
"Erica, this is Draco Malfoy," Ginny said.
"Hi," I said as if he wasn't worth the time of day.
"I've got to go find Crabbe and Goyle. Bye Weasley. Bye Erica," he told us as he left.
"I wouldn't mix with him. It's time to put on our robes," Ginny said, and we started changing.
Ginny and I got off the train, and we got into a boat that already had 2 people in it. Their names were Colin Creevey and Delaney Kepple, both first years. We finally got to the great castle, Hogwarts.
"Wow, it's more amazing than I thought," Ginny said.
"Than you thought? You don't have pictures or anything?" I asked.
"No. I've heard wonderful things about it though. I have 6 brothers. Bill and Charlie already graduated. Percy is a 6th year. Fred and Geaorge are twins, and they're 5th years. Ron is a 2nd year. I'm the youngest of 7, and I'm the only girl," Ginny explained.
After a little while, we got to the castle, and we were inside.
"Hello 1st years. You will soon be sorted into Houses. My name is Professor McGonagall, and I am Head of The Gryffindor House," a stern looking woman said, and she led us into a large room.
Professor McGonagall led us into a room, and their was a tattered hat on a chair.
The hat began to sing, "Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But don't judge on what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find
A smarter hat than me.
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat,
And I can cap them all.
There's nothing hidden in your head
The Sorting Hat can't see,
So try me on and I will tell you
Where you ought to be.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends.
So put me on! Don't be afraid!
And don't get in a flap!
You're in safe hands(though I have none)
For I'm a Thinking Cap!"
It seemed like the whole school was clapping. A few people were called up.
Finally mine was called, "Dobecki, Erica!" There were a few whispers, and I walked up.
"Very smart girl, yet very loyal and fair. Brave, yes, very brave, but your heart says Slytherin. Your father was in Slytherin, but your mother was in Ravenclaw. Yes, yes. It's SLYTHERIN!" the Sorting Hat yelled the last word. I walked over to the Slytherin table, and looked at Ginny. She seemed very sad for some reason.
Finally, Ginny's name was called.
"Another Weasley? GRYFFINDOR!" the Sorting Hat said instantly.
'Now I know why Ginny was upset! Her whole family is in Gryffindor, and I got sorted into Slytherin. Great. I have no friends.'
"Let the feast begin!" Dumbledore, the headmaster, said after a long speech I paid no attention to.
Like magic(of course it was magic!), food appeared. I got a few things, and managed to eat them, but I wasn't all that hungry. The feast was over in no time. I followed a Prefect, and got the password, "pure-blood". I had just gotten in when I saw Malfoy. He pushed through a whole bunch of people.
"Hi, Erica," Draco smiled.
"Hi Draco," I said.
"So, uh, I was wondering. Do you wanna date or somethin?" he asked.
"Um, I don't know. We just met, you know? Maybe if we get to know each other," I said, and I got to the 1st year girl dormitories.
I had double Transfiguration with the Ravenclaws. I had noticed in the past night that pretty much all the Slytherins were rude, impolite, and were about the meanest bunch of people I have ever met.
"Hello Slytherin and Ravenclaw. I'm telling you now, there is no messing around in my class. If you mess around, you will leave and not come back," Professor McGonagall said, and she changed her desk into a pig and back again. I knew we wouldn't be doing that right away, but the rest of the class did. They started whispering around excitedly. We ended up taking notes all period, and I got the best notes. Then we got the chance to turn a match into a needle. I managed to the first time.
"10 points to Slytherin," Professor McGonagall said with a smile.
The rest of the class groaned, and Professor McGonagall let me out early. I now had 10 extra minutes to get to Potions class, which we had with Gryffindor.
"Hi," Draco said behind me.
"Hi," I said looking for the Potion class.
"Looking for Potions?" Draco asked.
"Yeah. Do you know where it is?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I won't tell you unless you go on a date with me," Draco smiled.
"Okay, fine. I'll go out with you," I said.
"Potions is down a floor and in the Dungeons. I'll meet you in the Common Room for our date," Draco flashed a smile and left.
I walked slowly to my class when I heard another person.
"Hi," a boy with black hair said.
"Hi," I replied.
"Oh, I'm Harry Potter," he said as he shook my hand.
"I've read all about you! You got that scar the day I was born! My name is Erica Dobecki," I exclaimed.
"Oh, you're Erica Dobecki," he said, once again, another person who knew something I didn't.
"Yeah. Do you know why people keep saying stuff like they know stuff I don't?"
"Why don't you talk to Professor Dumbledore? He'll tell you," Harry said, and he ran away.
"Well, I'll just go right now," I said to myself, and I walked towards Professor Dumbledore's office, and I knocked on the door.
"Hello, Erica. I believe you have something to ask me. Come in," Professor Dumbledore said.
"Professor? Why do people keep acting like they know something I don't? Who were my parents?" I asked.
"That is something to be answered at the end of the year, and no sooner. I suggest you get to your Potions class before you are late," Professor Dumbledore said, and I walked out.
"Why won't anyone tell me who I am?" I asked myself, and I walked to Potions.
I dressed up for Draco and my date, and I went down to the Common Room.
"There you are! Wow, you look amazing!" Draco exclaimed, and we walked out of the Portrait Hole.
"Draco, I have a question for you. Who were my parents? My biological parents. I know I was adopted. My other parents told me," I looked up at him.
"Glynis Maxasad and Tom Riddle? Glynis was the smartest in her class, and she was in Ravenclaw. She dated Tom Riddle, who got her pregnant 9 months before what happened to Potter's parents. Tom and Glynis soon broke up, about 1 hour after you were born. Tom forced her to put you up for adoption, and without realizing it, Glynis put you in a muggle adoption, and Tom signed the papers. Tom killed her the next day, saying that she couldn't know what he was planning to do. He, of course, was weak, very weak, because he killed Potter's parents, and he gave Harry that stupid scar. He is now called You-Know-Who or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. He changed his name into a name everyone in the Wizarding World fear," Draco explained.
"What was the name?" I asked.
"I don't want to say it!"
"I'll kiss you if you tell me," I pleaded.
"Fine. His name was Voldemort," he said, and I kissed him on the lips.
"Voldemort? Why Voldemort?" I asked after I kissed him.
"No idea, but don't say it. Not many people have the guts to," Draco said.
All of a sudden, the corridor Draco and I were in was filled with people. I managed to get a good look at Mrs. Norris, Filch's cat, dead and hanging. Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley were there before we had. The wall had said THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.
"Enemies of the Heir, beware! You'll be next, Mudbloods!" Draco shouted.
"Draco, stop!" I told him quietly.
"I'm proud of you," he said.
"What? Why?" I asked.
"Enemies of the Heir? You're the Heir!" he said quietly.
I walked into my Broom Flight class the next day, and everybody stared at me. I knew they knew.
"Welcome cla-a-ss," Madame Hooch said, and she noticed me.
"Morning Madame Hooch," everybody said except me.
"Miss Dobecki, Professor Dumbledore wants to see you in his office," Madame Hooch said, and I left.
"Thank Heavens I'm outta there. Why do people think I did all that?" I said loudly.
I finally got to Professor Dumbledore's office, and he was already outside.
"Erica, come in," Professor Dumbledore said, and I walked into his office.
"I know Mr. Malfoy already told you, and what he told you was true. Now, Erica, did you open the Chamber of Secrets?" Dumbledore asked me sternly.
"I don't even know what the Chamber of Secrets is. What is it?" I asked.
"It is a place that Salazar Slytherin made. It's a secret place, made for only his heirs, and I'm sad to say, you are his only great-great-great-great-great granddaughter," Dumbledore explained.
"Great. This is just perfect. Another reason for people to hate me," I said my thoughts outloud.
"Yes, it is dreadful, but you cannot think that. Salazar Slytherin didn't like muggle borns, and he was probably one of the meanest out there, but you shouldn't be ashamed," Dumbledore told me sternly.
"I've got to go to Transfiguration," I said and hurried up the stairs. Classes would start in any moment.
"Hi," Draco whirled me around, and he kissed me.
"Hey," I said, and I tried to get away from him.
"What's wrong?" he followed me.
"Nothing. I just have pretty much the whole school hating me. I hate this!" I said, and I hurried away from him into Transfiguration.
"Class, turn in your homework, and today we're learning how to change a frog into a wristwatch," Professor McGonnagal said moments after I sat down.
I went to bed right after the feast, and I fell asleep. I had a weird dream.
"My sweet, why are you trying to run away from me? I need your magic! Can't you see? You walked straight into me. I know need you, and I will have you," a hissing voice said, and I was wondering around in a dark room with snakes all over it.
"NO! Get away from me! I need my magic! I need to defeat my father, VOLDEMORT!" I yelled.
"My sweet, I am your father," a boy of an age no older than 16 walked out from the darkness, "And I've come to kill you."
I screamed, and I was awake. I walked down to the Common Room, and Malfoy was there.
"What's wrong? You look like you had a bad dream," Draco said.
"I did," and I explained the whole dream to him.
"Wow. You saw your father?" Draco asked.
"Yes, but he was only 16. He was very tall, unlike me. It was scary," I told him, and I cuddled in his arms.
"It's okay. It wasn't real. Just go back to sleep," Draco said in a soft voice, and he kissed my forehead.
I fell asleep in his arms.
There was a huge dance off campus, and Draco asked me to go with him. Of course I said yes. That was the day I met Cedric Diggory, a 4th year.
"Hi. I'm Cedric Diggory," a hott boy said after we ran into each other.
"Oh, hi. I'm Erica Dobecki," I said.
"Are you okay?" he asked with concern.
"Yeah," I said and he smiled at me.
"I better go. Bye," Cedric smiled again, and he was gone.
"Hey Erica!" Draco said, coming out of the portrait hole only moments after Cedric left.
"I love you," somebody said, but it wasn't Draco. It was Cedric.
"Wha-wha-what?" Draco said angrily.
"I love Erica," Cedric repeated himself.
"You can't love her. She's my girlfriend!" Draco said, even more angrily.
"I can't help it!"
"Well you can have her. She's a mudblood anyway!" Draco stormed off.
"Why did you say you loved me? We barely know each other," I turned to Cedric.
"Well, you're just so beautiful and perfect," Cedric said, smiling.
"Oh, by the way Diggory, she's You-Know-Who's daughter!" Draco came back.
"Draco! What is your problem? We barely even know each other, so I don't even know how he loves me, and he probably didn't even mean it, so CALM DOWN!" I yelled.
"Something happened," Draco said seriously.
The 3 of us ran off towards an icy corridor. Once again, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were already there.
Peeves was yelling, "ATTACK! ATTACK! ANOTHER ATTACK! NO MORTAL OR GHOST IS SAFE! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! ATAAAACK!"
Then I noticed that Justin Finch-Fletchley and Nearly Headless Nick were both dead.
"Students-they're not dead! Just Petrified! I need to talk to Ron Weasley, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Cedric Diggory, and Erica Dobecki," Dumbledore yelled over all the students.
"Professor, Erica and Draco were with me! They're both innocent!" Cedric said.
"Cedric and Draco, you 2 can go. I need to talk to Erica," Dumbledore replied.
"Professor, what about us?" Hermione asked.
"I need to speak to you 3, because you were there."
"Professor, I swear I didn't!" I said.
"Erica, it's your father that scares me. Who he is and what he did; I need to talk to you no matter what."
"Professor, we had got there after it happened!" Ron said, exasperated.
"Harry, is there anything you would like to tell me?" Dumbledore asked.
"No," Harry hesitantly said.
"Okay. Ron, Harry, and Hermione, you may leave. Erica, I need to talk to you," Dumbledore said.
"Professor, am I in trouble, because I didn't do anything!?!?" i asked.
"I need you to find the Chamber of Secrets."
"You're the only one that can find it, along with Harry, but you're Slytherin's heir! Trust me, you'll find it."
"Oh, find the Chamber of Secrets! Like I can find it!" I said to myself angrily on my way to the Lake to go swimming. I was already in my bathing suit.
I heard some crying, and I walked into the blocked off girls bathroom.
"Myrtle, what's wrong?" I asked the ghost haunting the bathroom.
"Somebody threw a book at me, but Harry Potter already got it. I hate how people throw things at me!" Myrtle started to cry again.
"Where did it come from?" I asked.
"From around that sink," Myrtle pointed towards a broken down sink.
I looked at it, and I saw snakes around the pipes.
"What the-" I stopped my question.
Soon, I was pulled through the pipes, but I couldn't see what it was.
'Where am I going? What's going on?' I thought.
I could hear Myrtle screaming. I passed out right when I got to the bottom.
"What happened?" I asked groggily.
"I've been waiting for you," a boy that sounded just like the one from my dream said.
"Who are you?" I asked, fully awake now.
"I've already told you once. I am your father. Right now, I am purely a memory of your father. I am 16 years old right now, but I've come for you to go to Lord Voldemort, your father now."
"But, but that can't be. My father is a muggle," I said, trying to lie to him and myself.
"Funny, but no. Everybody knows you were adopted."
"Just leave me alone!" I shouted, and I fought my way towards the exit.
"Leaving so soon? I thought we could get to know each other!" he said, raising his wand so he could block the exit.
"Expellarmius!" I shouted.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" I shouted another spell so he would be floating and unconcious.
I finally got back up the pipes, and Myrtle was still screaming, and all the teachers were there.
"Professor, I found the Chamber of Secrets," I said weakly, and I passed out.
I woke up in the hospital wing 2 months later. I looked over, and I saw Hermione Granger in the bed next to me. At first I thought she was dead.
"Finally! You're awake!" Madam Pomfrey said.
"Did I get any visitors?" I asked.
"Well, other than the teachers, you had Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, for the beginning, Hermione Granger, Cedric Diggory, and oh yes, Draco Malfoy," she said.
"Yes, Mr. Malfoy and Mr. Diggory were often seen crying when they visited. They thought you were dead, just like everyone else."
"Can I go or do I have to stay?"
"You may leave if you wish to."
I grabbed all the gifts I go, and I walked out. I noticed that Draco was going to come and see me.
"Erica!" he said surprised.
"Hi," I said weakly. I was still pretty tired.
"I thought you were dead," Draco said the last word quietly.
"Apparently so did everyone else," I said as I noticed everyone whispering and pointing.
"I heard you found the Chamber of Secrets," Draco whispered.
"From Dumbledore. Well, I overheard it when he was talking to Snape."
"I did. But only because Dumbledore told me to. I didn't even mean to find it. I heard Myrtle crying, so I walked in. She said that somebody threw a book at her, and Potter came and got it, because he also heard her crying. I asked her where it came from, and she pointed at the sink, and I walked over and looked at it, and before I knew it, I was getting sucked in."
"Potter found it, too. Only a couple weeks after you. Granger was Petrified. I was sorta hoping she would die, but she was only Petrified. Hopefully she'll never wake up."
"DRACO! How can you say something like that!" I turned around to walk away from him, but Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were right behind us.
"Malfoy, you should eat slugs!" Ron pointed his wand at Malfoy, all taped up.
"Remember what happened last time?" Harry whispered to Ron.
"Yeah Weasley! Maybe you should get a new wand! Oh wait, I forgot. You used your last knut to buy a Howler!" Drac started laughing, but I turned around and slapped him.
"You should learn better manners! Oh, but I forgot. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY! AND BEFORE YOU CALL ANYONE ELSE A MUDBLOOD, THINK ABOUT YOURSELF, BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT THAT GREAT EITHER! YOU'RE JUST A JERK WHO WANTS SOME ATTENTION!" I screamed, and I walked away from the 3 of them. All 3 of them had their jaw down and looking shocked.
"Nice performance," somebody said behind me, and I turned around. It was Cedric.
"Cedric! I, I-"
"It's okay. Draco is a jerk, and I think you were right to set him in his place," Cedric smiled at me. I thought my heart would melt.
"Well, I was getting-" Cedric stopped me with a kiss, and I kissed him back.
"I told you I loved you," he said quietly.
"But aren't I a little young for you?"
"Only 4 years!" Cedric said with a laugh.
"Well, I gotta go to the Slytherin common room and say hi to my friends. Bye," I said. It was a downright lie, but I didn't want him to see me blush.
The next day, I crimped my hair, and I went to Potions. I was nervous about seeing Draco and even Cedric.
"Hi," Draco said in the Dungeon before class.
"Hi," I said quietly.
"Look, I'm sorry for 2 things. A, I know I never should've called you a mudblood, because you're not. And B, I should've never been that rude to Weasley and Potter."
"Well, I never should've shouted that."
"You had a right to. Come on, let's go for a walk. We have 10 minutes before class startes," and I went with Draco.
"I'm serious. I never should've shouted that," I said as we got inside the corridor.
"But you did, and I can't blame you. You were mad at me, and nothing could've changed that."
"Draco, why do you hate Harry so much?"
"I don't know, I just always have."
"Well, I don't see why you hate him. You 2 are totally different, though. Like you're the bad boy, which attracts me to you, but he's sweet, which attracts me to him as a friend. And you're-" I was stopped by Draco kissing me, and I kissed him back.
"Erica?" somebody said, obviously surprised and hurt. I turned around.
"Cedric! Bu-but!" I ran up to him.
"You know what? Don't even worry about it. I thought you had feelings for me more than him, but I guess I was wrong. I never should have loved you," Cedric walked off angrily. It almost looked like the way Draco did it.
"Well, at least we don't have to worry about him. So, do you want to go out with me or not?" Draco said after a moment of silence.
"Not now," I said, and I walked past him to the Dungeons.
The end of the year feast was tonight. I spent the whole night preparing for it. I got the top marks on all my exams, so that meant, of course, I was going on to my 2nd year, and I found out, so was Draco, except he was going on to his 3rd year. Everybody that had been Petrified wasn't Petrified anymore.
I walked into the Great Hall, and the decorations were red and gold. The Gryffindors had won. Ginny Weasley, it turns out, was being forced to write all that stuff on the wall, and a basilisk was petrifying people.
"Now, I congragulate Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley for stopping the Chamber of Secrets, but I would also like to congragulate Erica Dobecki for almost stopping it. Anywho, GRYFFINDOR WINS!!!" Dumbledore said.
"Can I talk to you outside?" Draco whispered in my ear.
"Sure," and the 2 of us left.
"I just wanted to say I love you, and I never want to leave you," Draco said as we got out of the Great Hall. THen, Draco kissed me.
"Maybe I can come over during break?" I said.
"Maybe you can stay the whole break?" he asked.
"Well, let me call my mum," and I called my mom.
"Mum? Um, I was wondering if I could stay over at a friends house. I can! Oh, that's why. Bye," I was shocked and about to cry.
"What's wrong?" Draco asked me.
"My parents. They're getting a divorce," I said slowly.
Draco looked at me with confusion, "A divorce? What's that?"
"It means they're no longer going to be married," I said, kinda surprised that he didn't know what a divorce was.
"Oh, I'm sorry," he said.
"I have to stay the whole summer at your house. I'll just poof some of my clothes here," and I waved my wand, and I had my clothes with me. "Come with me. I have to put my clothes away."
"I have to anyway. I have to ask my dad," Draco said, following me up the stairs.
It was completely silent until we got to the Common Room to put my stuff away.
"Dad, can my girlfriend stay over the summer? Like the whole summer?" I heard Draco talking to the fire.
"Why?" I heard the fire say.
"Her parents are getting a divorce. Do you know what that is? I didn't know when se told me," Draco said to the fire.
"She can stay. And yes, Draco, I know what it is. Now what is this girl's name?"
"Erica. Erica Dobecki," Draco answered.
"Really? Then she can stay in our best room!" the fire said earnestly.
"Okay, I'm ready to go eat," I said. I had changed into a red dress.
"So this is her?" the fire asked. I could now see the fire's face.
"I am Lucius Malfoy, Draco's father."
"Hi Mr. Malfoy."
"Dad, we have to go. See you in a few hours," Draco said, and we left the room. We went down to the feast, and a couple hours later, we were boarding the train. I couldn't wait to meet Draco's dad and mum.
