I never ever ever cried in school before, ever. I refuse to let people see me cry. There's only a few people other than my family members who have ever seen me cry. Its extremely awkward, because people just stare at me and ask if I'm okay, when I'm obviously not. Most people in school think I'm insensitive or something, like I have no heart. Its kind of annoying.

My teacher was reading a diary entry she wrote eight years ago on September 12th. She was talking about how in Boston, you can always hear planes flying overhead because there's a lot of airports here, and if you've lived in Boston your whole life you don't even notice the sound of the planes anymore, you're so used to it. But on September 12th everything was silent.

Depressing.

We watched a video about 9/11 in school and a girl in my class started hyperventilating because her uncle died in the Twin Towers and she didn't want to watch it. Fortunately, everyone was too busy making sure she wasn't having a panic attack to be like "ZOMG HANNAH'S CRYING."

My aunt was in New York that day and for two days I thought she was dead before she called. I probably shouldn't be watching the History channel right now because they're showing clips of the buildings collapsing and I'm probably going to freak out.

Usually I put something random and funny in my serious posts to lighten the mood but I don't think I can.

I don't know if a lot of other Americans know about it. Its possible, but I don't know. It doesn't really come up in conversations.

You heard about the Omagh Bomb? ._.

I didn't think many people outside the UK had heard of it. But yeah, it was horrible.

I don't think it matters which one was worse.

It's like me going, "Oh 9/11 was way worse than the Omagh bomb, so I'll bring that up every August 15th."

The fact is, people, who had done nothing but be in the wrong place at the wrong time, died. It doesn't matter which incident was worse. They died, and they shouldn't have.

I still remember the 30 people that died in Omagh, because they shouldn't have died, and I'll remember the near 3000 that died on 9/11.

It doesn't matter if Pearl Harbor was worse than 9/11.

What matters is thousands of innocent people died, and not just Americans but people from other countries, too.

What does Pearl Harbor have to do with anything? That was an attack on a military base. 9/11 was an attack that killed mostly civilians. I don't mean the attack on Pearl Harbor was horrible but saying it was worse than 9/11 is ridiculous.

Pearl Harbor > Nine-Eleven.

Two buildings versus a fuucking naval base.

Towelheads versus people who could have taken the entire state of Hawaii off of the face of the earth if we continued provoking them.

Yeah.

The only good thing about 9/11 is that everyone helped each other. People were carrying and helping total strangers and a lot of people wouldn't leave the towers or went back inside to make sure people they know got out.

I don't cry in school. But I do puke-- which I think, depending on what you ate-- is sometimes worse.

I've only cried in school once [not counting things having been watched or read that had a sad bit at the end] since I came up to SGS in first year [fourth year now], and I just fuucked off down to the bathrooms in Technology until I'd calmed down.

They're away at the bottom of the school, so no one would bother me or anything.

Mum taped these two things for me to watch, which were on during the week. One of them is calls from people in the towers to their loved ones, and the emergency services once the planes hit. The other is videos of it people took on like their phones and stuff.
