A bit long but it's a good one (i think = S) Read first 4 parts before you read this one!

----------------------------------------------------------------

“I still can’t believe what he said to you, like you were one of…..of THEM!” Darcy exclaimed angrily, pointing quite obviously over to where half of the girls in the Potter Parade sat, talking animatedly about the upcoming Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. We were in the Great Hall eating an early-ish dinner as we had to get started on the Defence Against the Dark Arts homework that Professor Lovegood had set us; the Patronus Charm. As Al already was quite good at it and could cast a strong Patronus (Professor Lovegood thinks that he takes after his parents when it comes to Defence) he was going to give us help with it.

“I bet she loved it though!” Rose said, smirking slightly. I glared at her.

“And what, may I ask, is that supposed to mean?” I asked sceptically. Rose tossed her hair over her shoulder, sighing theatrically.

“Oh come on Morgan, you can’t tell me you didn’t enjoy the attention you got from him-” I looked at her witheringly.

“I’ll have you know that he was the one making advances at me, and I don’t need to tell you again that I think that he’s the most arrogant, self-centred, obnoxious-”

“Talking about James again are we?” Al cut in sitting beside Darcy (Rose and I glanced at each other, smiling). “Seems like he’s taken a shine to you!”

“Shut your face Al if you know what’s good for you!” I retorted, throwing a chicken wing at him; his Shield Charm sent it flying, eventually landing on old Elouise Lambert’s perfectly permed head.

“Er, I think we might want to make an extremely quick exit!” Rose murmured giggling as cries rose shrilly into the air. We nodded and sprang quickly to our feet, making hastily for the double doors into the Entrance Hall. As soon as we got to its safety, we burst out laughing.

“Did you see her face!” Darcy spluttered, glancing back.

“Yeah it’ll take a couple of washes to get all that grease out of her hair!” Rose chuckled, leading the way over to the marble staircase. We were almost halfway up when someone behind us called my name.

“Hey Morgan!” Looking back down the stairs, I saw Alicia Brown, a 7th Year Ravenclaw and Head Girl, hurrying over to where we stood. I smiled.

“Hey Alicia-are you alright?” I asked. She was out of breath and looked worried.

“You wouldn’t happen to know where Alex Patterson is would you? It’s just McGonagall wants to see him in her office asap – she said something about dung bombs and Mrs Norris? Anyway I’ve looked everywhere for him and I can’t seem to find him anywhere! It’s like he’s vanished from the castle without a trace and-”

“Have you looked in the grounds?” I asked, knowing where he’d be. Alicia shook her head.

“No, no I haven’t-”

“I know where he is; leave it to me Alicia.” She beamed.

“You ANGEL Morgan! I’ll go tell McGonagall right now!” And off she went scurrying up the staircase. We all watched her go in silence. As soon as she had disappeared around the corner at the end of the corridor, Al sighed.

“That girl needs to get out once every full moon!” Darcy nudged him hard in the ribs.

“Ow! What?”

“She cares about her position!”

“A bit too much though!”

“Al, just because-”

“Sorry to break up the party but who would rather wish to accompany me down to the Quidditch pitch to retrieve the young Mr. Patterson?” I butted in loudly to put an end to their bickering. Before either had a chance to draw even the tiniest breath, Rose was already dragging me back down the stone steps.

“Come on Mo, they can continue with their argument-”

“We weren’t having an argument-” Darcy started.

“Heated discussion, debate; call it what you like! Laters!” She called back to her and Al as she continued to haul me through the great oak doors and down onto the sprawling grounds stretching out in every direction ahead of us.

“You’re a bit keen!” I stated, laughing at the determination and pace at which she was pulling me. She slowed suddenly, turning to me with her trademark mischievous half-smile playing around her glossy mouth.

“Well how else was I going to get them to really spend time alone together!” I glanced sideways at her.

“You’re good!” She waved her hand as though to brush off the comment.

“Well obviously! Come on Mo, I thought you were intelligent!” I laughed.

“You obviously do not have the faintest idea about me then,” I teased. “And I thought we were mates!”

“I’ll zip your mouth shut if you’re not careful!” Rose shot back, linking her arm with mine. “Anyway, who am I to turn down an opportunity to ogle Tyler Byrd in his Quidditch kit; it’s like all my Christmas’ coming at once-”

“You’ll be the one with the zip on your mouth in a minute, leave my brother alone!” I cut in, my voice dripping with mock annoyance.

“No, now come on!” she laughed, pulling me along.

The pitch was magically illuminated, casting a white glow on the grounds surrounding it, and as we drew closer to it, I could just make out seven minute red blobs zooming up and down, left and right. Although I usually found Quidditch a complete waste of time and boring as h.ell, I had to admit that the sight before me was quite beautiful.

We reached the edge of the pitch to find the Gryffindor team still in the air. As I was verifying which tiny blob was in fact Alex, I heard around a dozen voices shout chorally “We Love James! We Love James!” Tearing my gaze away from the skies, I glanced over to the stands to see 30 or so girls positioned in the middle of the Gryffindor stands, all emblazoned with Gryffindor scarves, gloves, hats, anything that was red and gold! I snorted in disgust and continued my search for Alex. Rose had noticed them too, as she was now shaking her head and laughing openly at them.

“Honestly, do they not know how creepy that must look?!”

“He’s lapping it up though, look at him!” I stated as James soared past them lazily, ruffling his windswept hair with no hands on his broom. “He loves it; the c.ocky a.sshole!” Finally locating Alex, I pulled out my wand. Pointing my wand at him, a white dove burst out of its tip and soared towards him. After a couple of minutes, the blob that was Alex began to grow larger and larger, until finally he landed effortlessly in front of us.

“You called ladies?” He asked, smirking.

“Yeah,” I replied. “McGonagall wants to see you in her office asap, something about dung bombs and Mrs. Norris?” His face fell.

“Right. Sh.it.” He said. I smirked.

“Up to something that we shouldn’t have been up to, Mr. Patterson?” Rose asked flirtatiously, smirking slightly. Alex grinned.

“You could say that….”

“Naughty boy…” She replied cheekily. I butted in.

“Rose! Calm yourself. Asap, Alex.” He smirked.

“Alright then, thanks girls!” He called, walking off to the changing rooms.

“You’re welcome!” Rose called after him. I hit her on the arm. Hard!

“Ow! Geez, what was that?!”

“Can you try and NOT consistently flirt with every human with testosterone!”

“Come to see me girls?” James Potter’s voice drifted across to them as the rest of the team touched down on the ground. We turned to walk away, and I glanced back at him standing there looking at me, a smirk playing his thin lips.

“Let’s not go through this again Potter, we’re both far too intelligent to be seen with people like you! Ciao!” I laughed and turned back to find Rose smirking at me, amused.

“What?” I asked. She sighed.

“You’re almost as bad as me!”

---------------------------------------------------------------

As James began making his way to the Gryffindor changing rooms, completely ignoring the 30 or so girls calling his name, Tyler caught up with him. They walked through the door in silence, and only when they were in the changing rooms and almost changed did he voice his thoughts to James.

“You like her, don’t you,” Tyler said suddenly, turning to him. James paused a moment too long, his shirt in his hand, then laughed.

“What? Of course I don’t; she’s your sister Ty-” Tyler cut across him.

“Come on Jay! I’ve known you for 7 years; I think I know when you’ve got the hots for someone! ” He went to lock his broomstick in the cupboard, and returned to find James sitting on the bench by his schoolbag, still half-dressed, shirt still in his hand and with a strange look on his face. Tyler smirked. “That confused?”

“I dunno, it’s just a different feeling to all the other girls I’ve liked-”

“Well to be fair, all the other girls actually liked you back!” Tyler said laughing. James smiled, standing up and pulling on his shirt.

“Too true, too true! When I spoke to her last, actually, she said that she’d rather kiss a Blast-Ended Skrewt than be anywhere near me!” The two boys looked at each other, and burst out laughing.

“What a compliment!” Tyler laughed as he picked up his bag. “I didn’t know that my sister was capable of such flattery!” James laughed too as they made their way to the door of the changing rooms.

“She’s just different, you know?”

“Yeah I do know!”

“Shup! No seriously though, she’s got her own mind, isn’t following me round the whole time, or passing out every time I walk past her. She’s funny, sarcastic-”

“What, and that’s a quality you go for?!” Tyler asked incredulously, gawping at James as they got to the door. James smiled.

“It makes the chase a lot more interesting!” Tyler frowned.

“Don’t go treating her like you usually do, alright, or you’ll have my fist to answer to-”

“No worries Ty! Like I said, she’s different!” James said, pushing open the door to reveal Brandon standing there.

“Enjoy detention with Hodge?” Tyler began to tease, but Brandon just pu.nched him on the arm and turned to James, who frowned.

“What’s up mate?”

“Tom Shaklebolt’s gonna ask Morgan out!” Tyler stopped laughing immediately and glared at Brandon. Tom Shaklebolt had a well known reputation as Ravenclaw’s player.

“You what!” James exclaimed. Tyler shook his head.

“No he fu.cking isn’t!” he snarled, starting forwards, but James held him back.

“Too late,” he said quietly, nodding towards the castle. As the three of them looked, they saw Morgan and Tom, hand in hand, walking through the great oak doors into the Entrance Hall. Tyler, still fuming, turned to James and was extremely astonished to see a broad grin spreading across his face.

“Jay. Why the he.ll are you smiling!” James looked at Tyler and Brandon, a familiar twinkle in his eye.

“Guys. Let the chase begin!”
