A/N: Ok, here's part 4. Enjoy, and I'm sorry if you think it is kind of short, we're getting to longer parts, I promise.

Part 4

I walked up to the stool, feeling the eyes of every witch and wizard in the Great Hall staring at me as I sat down on the stool. Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on my head, and soon it was whispering things to me.

“Ah, very smart, aren’t you? Very smart, rather clever. Ravenclaw might do you well…or perhaps Hufflepuff could suit your loyalty? No, no, there is something I mustn’t misplace…a dormant, dangerous white hot rage boiling inside of you, waiting to strike those that anger you…yes, yes. I know just where to place you,” the Sorting Hat was mumbling into my ear. I waited for him to burst out the word that would seal my fate to a house. I was hoping for Ravenclaw, or maybe Gryffindor. Or even Hufflepuff, my parents would still be proud of me. But what the Sorting Hat yelled next caused me great dismay.

“SLYTHERIN!”

I was so shocked by this word that I hardly even remembered to go and sit by Draco at the table of cheering, green-robed students. Draco was obviously the happiest of them.

“I had a feeling you’d be a Slytherin,” he said to me. I couldn’t meet his gaze.

Slytherin. I was in Slytherin. But why? What qualities of a Slytherin could I possibly possess? I was probably the first Postely to ever be a Slytherin…

I came out of my thoughts of despair to watch Harry Potter walk up to the stool and sit down. I watched as Professor McGonagall placed the Sorting Hat on his head, and several minutes later the hat was calling out, “GRYFFINDOR!” The Gryffindor table erupted with cheers as the famous Harry Potter sat at their table. I turned to look at Draco beside me, who was obviously upset by this.

Soon, thankfully, the Sorting Ceremony was over, and suddenly a great feast magically appeared on all four tables. But before we could begin to eat the wondrous delights displayed before us, Dumbledore was standing up to say a few words. “I would like to welcome all new students and welcome back all old students to our school,” the headmaster began. “Let me remind you all that the Dark Forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Also, Mr. Filch would like me to remind you that the third floor corridor is banned to all students. That is all. Let the feast begin!”

Immediately, we were all tasting the scrumptious food set before us. The pumpkin juice was exceptionally excellent, and the apple tarts had been made perfectly. Students were chatting idly, and many were clamoring about this drink or that piece of pie. Crabbe and Goyle were downing food and drink so fast that it was hard to tell what they were having. Draco, on the other hand, seemed more upset about Harry Potter than impressed about the food.

“He’s a git, that he is,” Draco was muttering to me between bites. “A bloody git!”

I watched in utter amazement as Crabbe swallowed a whole piece of pie in a single bite. He coughed for a moment, and poured a glass of pumpkin juice down his throat to clear it. Then he was stuffing mushroom pasties into his mouth. Goyle, on the other hand, was working on a bowl of porridge. Somehow, earlier he had gotten peanut butter stuck to the top of his mouth, and now it was taking longer for him to chew. Still, he finished the porridge at a rapid pace and swigged two goblets of fruit cocktail.

I was soon full of food and drink, and continued to watch Crabbe and Goyle chomp or chug anything that came in their reach. It was disgusting yet fascinating at the same time. After a while, though, they too were done, and shortly after that the mess on the tables magically disappeared. The feast was over.

Soon, I was following Draco and the other Slytherins down into the dungeons, where we slipped through a corridor and came to a small window. The window was strange, instead of glass it was made out of silver, making it impossible to see out of. Walking up to it, one of the seventh years said the password, which was “candied chestnuts”. After the password had been spoken, the silver window grew larger and longer. It also changed in features, until it resembled a door. Then, it swung open, and all of the Slytherins started crowding into the Slytherin common room, the silver door swinging shut once all of us were through. On the outside it now resembled a small silver window again, while on the inside it remained looking like a silver door.

I turned my attention to the Slytherin common room. It was a fairly average-sized room, with green-and-silver furniture. A fireplace roared on one side of the room, and the stairs leading to the dormitories were at the far end of the room. I followed Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle up to the first year boys’ dormitory. There was a four poster bed for each of us and the others.

I took one of the beds and set my trunk down next to it. Sitting down on the bed, I looked around myself. Well, this was Hogwarts. This was where I would be for most of my next seven years. I just hoped that this was a good thing.

(To be continued...)

I love it.

And 'twas very interesting to read the description of how Crabbe and Goyle were eating...if I actually saw something like that, I imagine that I would be quite disgusted...

Yes, Jenna, for Minerva and Dumbledore I tried to make what they said as accurate from the book and movie as I could from memory. It's going to take some parts until I start introducing the plot and making the characters my own, but we'll get there. =)

Jennabobenna - What they are saying sounds a lot like what they say in the movie, if you don't mind me saying so. ;D

Brilliant again. (:

Keep me updated, love.

Cool! I love it. You have really kept to J.K. Rowling's characters. Well done!

I'm curious... Do you take some lines that are in the book and just plug them into your story? Like with Dumbledore and Minerva? I don't have a book on hand, and it's bothering me not knowing. Ha ha.
