I could feel the bright neon lights warming my face as I locked into my pose at the back of the runway.

My face - deadpan.

My posture - upright and elegant.

My eyes, focusing on the back wall of the ballroom. One wrong move and everyone would know about it. I watched as Liliana turned slowly from the crowd infront of her, the deep purple flamenco dress she was wearing swirling around her perfect legs. Walking back, she caught my eye, and risked the tiniest of smiles in my direction. I blinked my thanks back, before taking a deep breath like I always did, and started to stride down the runway. 'Act like you own that walk', my mother always said to me, as I was practicing at home in our living room, and I never forgot that advise. Camera bulbs were flashing. Hands were clapping. Voices were mumbling god knows what but I ignored it and stayed focused.
