"Got everything, Darcy? We don't want you to make a bad impression on the first day-"

"Oh jesus, yes! I have ok!" I retorted back at Julia, my 'escort' or babysitter as I called her. She was like a sister to me, but as usual she was trying to act like my mother. She didn't stand a chance!

"Listen, I know you wanted to stay in San Marino; so did I! But your father has work to do here, so I need you to at least sound like your enjoying yourself, ok?" She looked imploringly at me, and I looked away, saying "Fine, whatever."

"Good. Now off you go, and don't forget Kline, Carlos and I will be waiting for you in the reception after school, agreed?" she put in as I opened the car door and started to get out.

"Kay, see you later Jules," I said, getting out and shutting the door behind me. She wound down the window.

"Kline will take you into school-"

"Jules, I'm not 5 anymore I can handle myself!" I argued back. She looked at me, thoughtfully.

"Ok, let's see how it goes today, but do NOT tell your father or it's my head on the line!"

"Don't worry I will-"

"Darcy!" Jules snapped.

"Joking! Joking!" I said, laughing a little at her worried expression. "See you at 3."

Jules wound the window back up, as the engine started up. I stood back and watched as the polished black sports car pulled away from the kerb, back down the street, and out of sight. I turned, and walked through the polished metal gates, and up the walkway to Eastwood Bow High School. People walked past me, some hurrying to get to their friends, some boarding, others simply gossiping away to their companions. No-one seemed to notice me, and I was glad, because if they did, I wouldn't be able to live a normal life at school like everyone else around me. Make a good impreesion, don't talk back to teachers, be polite and caring, and keep a low profile. That's what my dad had told me before rushing off to work that morning. I wouldn't have usually stuck to that advise, but in a way, I knew he had a point.

I followed the hoard of students up to the building, and caught a glimpse of a sign that read:

Reception (left)

I knew where I had to go.....
