A group of very aristocratic ladies all sat around a tiny, heavily doilied table chatting quite morosely about their late tea-companion, Lady Celadon.

A plump, short, generally cheerful-looking, but now quite sad looking woman sat at the far side of the round table, off to her self, but still included in the conversation. Lady Periwinkle. She sighed heavily and shook her head as if it were all such a terrible shame, which, truth be told, it was.

Another lady, by the name of Lady Burgundy, with shining hair that quite suited her name threw up her hands pitifully when asked any questions, and snivelled uncontrolably when ever she thought about her dear friend, now dead and buried.

A tall imposing lady, Lady Ivory was one of the most unsettled about Lady Celadon's demise. Although she didn't show it as prominently as Lady Periwinkle and Lady Burgundy, Lady Ivory had been pondering about it for the past four hours and her tea was nearly solidified. She sat with her chin upon one white, lace-gloved hand and stared into the dredges of the murky liquid in front of her.

Lady Emerald and Lady Lavender where in the depths of a serious conversation loosely involving the three other women. Both wore sombre looks and were seen to look around every now and then, as though they feared eavesdroppers. As a matter of fact, the conversation dealt very heavily on the subject of little Chandra, Lady Celadon's infant daughter.

"I can't even begin to imagine how the child will fare without a proper mother." Said Lady Emerald, searching her companions mournful faces for approval. "I don't suppose she has many other female relatives, after all, Lady Celadon's family is very well-known for its abundance of male babies."

At the sound of Lady Celadon's name mentioned, Lady Burgundy began to sob, but changed her mind and fainted dead away. Lady Periwinkle sniffled, but kept herself together, Lady Ivory didn't hear any of the conversation, and Lady Lavender leaned forewards and nodded knowingly.

"the poor child." Lady Lavender sympathised.

"I heard that Lady Celadon has some relatives who live out in the country, perhaps they will look after Chandra..." Lady Periwinkle suggested in a miserable tone.

"Relatives! Way out in-- no. They won't send a baby to live with uncultured rural peasants." Sniffed Lady Emerald, displeased that this information had not reached her sharp ears first.

I don't have too much time, but I will finish it eventually.
