I have fallen to the bottom of society,

my existence- as plentiful as an empty glass,

Don't even look at me,

don't even acknowledge the ghost of my presence,

I am nothing, a nobody in this world.

Here lies a waste of a person,

a poor excuse for a human being.

I feel the weight of the world on me,

holding me down so I can't move, can't breathe,

Immobilized by my depression,

in this bed without dreaming

and high hopes to never open these eyes

to the light of day or the darkness of reality again.

Choke these pills down? I don't want to.

Get some fresh air? Rather not.

Share my feelings with the world? They don't care.

You say you can help? No you cannot.

You cannot even see me,

nor can you feel,

nor can you hear me,

invisible, like nothing's here, nothing's real.

So immobilized by my depression,

that now it's become it's own person,

she says "the pain will go away,

but first you must listen, dear,

we could cut a smile in your face,

we could cut it from ear to ear."

I can't move, but why should I even try?

I'll lie in this bed forever,

until the day I die.

So now I'll take this empty glass,

and throw it to the floor,

it shatters into pieces,

and now I am no more.
