A/N: OMG! I am SO sorry for my Lee sisters and whoever missed me from my vacation, I didn't get any time to go on TDP and tell people on here that I was leaving for a while, that's the reason why I've never been on here for SO long! I missed my Lee sisters SO much! I'm SUPER sorry! Anyways enjoy. ^.^
RECAP of Chapter 5:
“Hey! What you doing with my girlfriend?!” I heard someone say behind me. I hoisted my head back and saw Chris. “Girlfriend? I didn’t even answer yet.” I told him, as I stood up. “Move aside.” Chris warned.
I was confused at what was happening. “I’m just a friend of hers, relax man.” Mac explained. “Doesn’t look like it!” Chris snarled.
Chris seized Mac’s wrist as he clouted at his cheek. I gasped in horror. “Stop, you guys!” I yelled, though as if they’d listen to me.
“Oh, so you want to play, huh?” Mac grinned evilly, as he elbowed him in the abs. Chris nastily pulled him down to the base of the wet tiled pool floors. They tackled each other as everybody stared at the brutal fight, between both guys.
I couldn’t take any more of the guy fights, and thinking that Chris thought Mac was flirting with me, as well as him already thinking that I accepted his girlfriend offer.
“STOP!” I shouted loudly. Everyone stopped everything, it was so quiet I could hear a pin drop, but nothing happened, it was dead silence.
“Mac, is just a friend,” I started, “and Chris, I never even answered if I wanted to be your girlfriend or not.” I finally said.
Chapter 6:
“Well, it’s not like you were going to say no, right?” Chris asked sheepishly. I looked down at my fingers as I played with my thumbs, nervously. Here it comes, the uneasiness of anxious worries. I hate when I always get pressured into making a decision right at the spot, so you know what? I should take a stand, because well it’s my choice if I want to go out with him or not, so why not? It’s not a risk, it’s just a decision. So I think I’ll say….
“No, actually I think I’m going to be single. Sorry, Chris.” I said simply. Mac smiled a bit but I knew by the reaction on his face that his back was still aching from the fight they just had 2 minutes ago.
“What? But why?” Chris asked as he looked around at all the people staring at our conversation. “Well, I just don’t like you, like that,” I replied, “Plus I’ve only met you for like ten minutes.” I added.
“So?” Chris said giving me a dirty look, as if it was obvious that any girl would date him. “So…I’m rejecting your offer.” I said giving a dirty look back. “Whatever.” He said as he walked away. When he did, everyone started applauding. I guess a few rounds of clapping is what you get if you make your own choices instead of lying.
I couldn’t believe that I just did that in front of Mac, Jen, Cairn and the whole entire Lacrosse team and a few girls I didn’t even know! I felt so superior and strong, and that was the greatest feeling I felt today.
“Candice, that was amazing.” Jen commented as she and Cairn followed me beside the hammock I was sitting in. “Thanks, it was actually kind of breath taking but I managed.” I said as a grin plastered onto my face. “I know, that was like so cool, your going to be so popular when the word spreads around everywhere at camp!” Cairn shouted as she pictured it.
I froze, as my smile took off into the air. “The whole camp?” I asked, thinking how much Tyler would hate me for lying that I had a boyfriend, when he finds out.
“Of course, gossip can spread faster than you think.” Jen agreed, as she wiped her soaked face with a clean face towel. “Um, yeah I think I’m going to head back to the cabin now…” I said.
“Why, so early? We’ve only been here for like an hour or so. Plus I met someone who’s really cute.” Cairn said looking at the specific guy she was talking about.
“I don’t know, I just have to get started on my…leadership homework that I got today…” I spoke without looking them in the eye. Jen scoffed, “homework? Okay, your being silly,” she said as she loosened her wet hair.
“I just feel like it, okay. I’ll see you guys later.” I said, sort of urgently as I grabbed my diary and bag. I walked off into the change rooms, as I opened a locker and took my clothes out.
When I was ready to leave the pool area, Mac ran into me.
“Hey, leaving already?” He asked looking at me like I hated this place. “Yeah, I have homework…” I told him. “Wow, must be really important to you.” He said sarcastically. “It is.”
“Well, if you have to leave, you better get going before your homework gets eaten by a dog.” He jokingly said as his smile widened.
“Ha, ha, so funny…” I said with a phony laugh, as I trotted off.
Thinking, that I left my friends with lacrosse players at a pool, left me guilty. However, I felt somewhat better about getting away from that place.
As I opened the door to my cabin, I thought about my relationship with Tyler. It’s bound to get worse when he finds out about all this. Cairn’s words kept piercing repetitively in my head, “your going to be so popular when the word spreads around everywhere at camp!” It wouldn’t stop; the words were in my head, like rewinding a tape recorder of her voice over and over and over and over…
I sat down in a bean bag chair as I opened up my diary. How typical of me to do that?
Dear diary,
God, has life been a total mess for me! I hate lying and I hate telling the truth too! Today, I told off Chris that I really don’t like him which is true, but at the same time I told Tyler I have a boyfriend which is a lie. Now, since rejecting Chris was in front of everyone at the pool, will lead off telling everyone at camp, including TYLER. Even though I’m supposed to be doing my Leadership homework like I told my friends I feel much better writing down in my diary. The thing that made me tell a lie to Tyler that I had a boyfriend was the fact that knowing he couldn’t lie to me because of Kaila! He probably knows I hate her so that would be definitely embarrassing for me so that’s why I told him that. Now, I wish I hadn’t. What’s worse is that Cairn and Jen don’t know and once they do they’ll hate me at the same time as when Tyler finds out. I better get started on my homework, just incase Cairn and Jen walk in and see me writing in my diary. Lies and truths are beyond messed up, hope for the best!

I closed my diary while I switched it with a notebook. I took it over to my bed and sat there thinking of what to write. I tapped my pencil while rolling around on my bed in concentration. Nothing popped into my head. I was blank. Nothing. How was I supposed to know about this leadership junk anyways? I never listened in my first class because of the major embarrassment and Tyler!
Why does this age in life have to be so miserable, and complicated? I asked myself everything I know about in leadership but nothing would fit into my assignment. Soon it was about after another hour.
I was still sitting in the same place in my bed thinking, and thinking, glumly. The shatter of the keys opening the cabin door startled me as I looked up and saw Jen and Cairn walk inside with their wet bikinis in their bag.
“You’re still doing your homework?” Jen asked as she locked the door.
“Yep. I can’t figure out anything to write.” I sighed. “Well, it’s not due until next week, what’s the rush?” Cairn asked as she threw her wet bag into a corner and started to plug in the blow dryer.
“It’s just I got a lot on my mind lately and I guess if I do my homework now, I got plenty of time to think about the rest.” I said as I sat up straight. “Uh, girl—share!” Jen remarked like it was obvious that I should. “You mean tell you what’s bugging me?” I asked, thinking if I should.
“Well yeah, we’re your campmates we tell each other everything.” Jen pointed out. Jen seems to have a point but I wasn’t exactly sure.
“Fine.” I accepted as we rested our rear ends on the lime green couch. “Well, I like this guy, but I told him I have a boyfriend even though I don’t…” I told them trying to sound not too detailed. “Oh…”
Cairn started to speak but a knock on the door interrupted her. Jen got up as she fixed her sweat pants and opened the door. It was Mac.
“Um…yes?” Jen asked wondering who he was. “Oh, he’s my friend—” I began to say, as I stopped, for no utter reason. “Yeah, can I talk to her for a minute?” He continued. “Who is he?” Jen mouthed. I didn’t say anything, but walk out with Mac.
“So what’s up?” I asked questioning why he came over. “I just wanted to hang out, you left so early we barely got to talk.” He said as he jerked the gravel with his feet. “Oh, let’s go to the café then, to just hang out.” I suggested, “just let me get dressed.” I told him as I turned around to go back inside.
Before I took my first step, I felt a tug pull my body back to the position I was in. After that there was nothing but a vague notion. Before I knew it my lips were crested right on top off Mac’s.
