Aurelia focused her sea-green eyes on a tiny starfish crawing on her windowsill. The sun, filtered in by hundreds of gallons of water danced playfully across the ocean floor shooting rainbows into the coral beds. Aurelia flicked her tail gently, propelling her slightly towards the star-shaped animal. She slowly reached towards the creature with both hands and scooped it lightly off the windowsill. She swam forward a little more so that she could fit her head and shoulders out the window, and gently set the starfish in the soft sand.
Returning to sit on the edge of her bed, Aurelia ran her fingers through her long purple hair and rubbed her tail gently where she had hit it the other day being chased by sharks. She didn't quite understand how a shark could mistake her and her cousin for fish, but sharks didn't have very good eyesight, either. Aurelia pondered this matter for a few seconds more as she finished combing her hair.
Her hair felt smooth enough, so Aurelia swam gingerly out to the kitchen while making sure her sore tail didn't brush anything. Auwina was seated comfortably at Aurelia's small kitchen table eating something green and rather slimy looking, a texture Aurelia couldn't stand. Aurelia drifted into the kitchen and Auwina looked up smiling cheerfully, her cheeks filled with the green goo. Aurelia gagged audibly and Auwina looked distressed.
"Whatmf?" she asked, the green substance spilling over her chin.
Aurelia threw both hands over her mouth and moaned. Her stomach was beginning to cramp and she could feel the extra saliva building up.
"Oh, please stop... I'm going to--"
Aurelia's eyes widened as a horrible taste filled her mouth. She choked the taste back down and held her stomach. Presently, she felt a bit better, but Auwina was still chewing on that disgusting stuff!
"What is it?" Groaned Aurelia rubbing her stomach furtively.
"Oh!" Auwina held up a piece. It was slimy and stringy and a horrible murky green colour that made Aurelia's stomach turn.
"This is... Asparagus." She said trying to sound intelligent.
"Asparagus? I've never heard of it." Aurelia's suspicious glare was interrupted by a violent stomach cramp.
"Whatever it is, you'd better stop eating it before I blow chunks."
Auwina grinned ruthlessly. "Don't 'cha want to know where it came from?
Aurelia shook her head and moaned, expecting the worst.
