The boy whimpered. He was on his own now. His parents were gone. He reached out desperately in order to find his mother's hand which lay on the ground only a few feet away but could only feel the cool touch of the earth and the rough texture of the rubble. His eyes were closed - he didn't want to see it any-more. He would rather be blind with ignorance than see what was before him.

He curled up closer to the rubble, still trying to find his mother's hand, his strange purple hair rubbing the dirt off the rock. The air was thick and heavy and slithered round his body like a snake. The smell was almost unbearable now but the boy didn't notice. His nose had already been broken and a small trail of blood that dribbled down his face showed that he had better things to worry about.

He stopped and pressed his back against the remains of a building, sensing danger. His first instinct was to run but his legs were locked onto the ground as if he had been frozen by the intense heat of the red sun.

There was sound. The sound of wings. The three angels landed, grinning. Their once weak and warm hearts were now cold with God's fury. The boy opened his eyes and went a stunning white. He trembled. They had come looking for him.

The centre angel was wielding a sword. He lifted the sword in front of him, letting it leave a trail in the dirt and raised it to the boy's chin. He then lifted the boy's chin with the tips of the glimmering sword so he could see the golden eyes of a demon. He had never seen a demon's eyes properly. He never savoured the moment of killing. It was always nothing but a fun race - a game. Demon tears fell to the ground. The angel pressed the sword closer to the demon's throat, leaving enough space for the orange blood to trail down.

The demon boy closed his eyes tightly, letting the tears fall even more rapidly now than they had before, waiting for the pain or the end. He knew that running wouldn't help him now. Demons were cursed to the ground as fish were cursed to the sea. The boy's face contorted of pain. He let out a small cry.

The sword dropped just for a second before it was raised again.

"Open your eyes," demanded a voice. He did as he was told. The three angels were crumpled in a heap and a forth was now holding his life with a sword. He dared not to breath as he witnessed the glory of the forth angel.

Undoubtedly, she was feminine, her long blonde hair trailing behind her twirling in-between her three white wings. However he didn't notice these intriguing features. The boy were focused upon something other. Two golden eyes stared sternly at him from the face of an angel.

"Stand," She demanded. He flung his hands behind him and grasped at the building remains with his fingertips, struggling to pull himself up from the ground. The sword was by her side now, it's tip buried deep in the dirt. The angel began to walk. The demon boy followed, leaving what was left of his parents behind.
