His Grace had stopped by the river when two figures , a man and a woman, came out of nowhere. It was Lancelot,Clarissa a duchess, Janet another duchess and Hayden. Clarissa was clinging to Lancelot and Janet to Hayden. I hated the way Janet clung to Hayden and it seemed that He hated it too. The men smiled cheerfully and Lancelot said " BOO!" Clarissa looked disgusted and shook her head at him. Hayden bowed and smiled at me. Clarissa and Janet curtsied and Lancelot just waved.
" Countess what brings you here?", said Hayden. I looked at him and said" His Grace and I decided to go riding together sine it is such a nice day ". Hayden frowned when he saw His Grace put hs arm around me. " What brings you here Hayden?", said Carl. " I was out for a walk when i ran into Lancelot, Clarissa and Janet", he said smiling down at her. i shook my head " Come Carl, we must be going now", i said.
"No no my dear go on now I have some buisness to attend to", said Carl. I sighed and walked back to where the horses are when I felt a hand on my arm. I turned around and gasped when i saw Hayden on his horse. " Would you mind riding back with me?" he said, " It is not proper for a lady to be out riding without an escort". He helped me onto the horse and together we rode off. I must say i was sad to be back at the castle and my parents were outside waiting. They frowned when they saw who i was with. My father helped me down and pushed me towards the door " Inside now, Marissa!", he said angrily. My mother shook her head at me and motioned for me to go inside. I quickly ran in.............. |
