He raised his chin slowly to face the divine light. It warmed his cold skin and made his cheeks glow. The rest of his body hid in the shadows. An outline of a tear could be seen. It splashed onto the floor without any enthusiasm.

The tear drop was red. It was a deep shade of crimson. A blood rose on the hard wooden floor.

"I'm sorry," The man whispered, clutching a cross to his chest. "I didn't mean...I just...It's just that...I had no control,"

The white angel looked down upon him, her arms wide and her still eyes full of pity. The light came from the candles that she clutched in each hand.

"Is it okay if I commit another sin? A sin that will save mankind...I want to protect them. I want them to not be harmed by this disease which will surely grow if I do not commit this sin. Please hear me...," The man broke down into a sob and his face turned completely to shadow.

The candle flame danced and lit the church partly. It cast an heavenly aura into the room. The wooden beams caught the flickering light and the windows reflected it, joyfully.

The man in the shadows didn't want to look at the beauty. He didn't want to examine the architecture. He was not sure what it was he wanted.

His sobs grew louder. They echoed off the walls and ran through the night.

There were a creak. The man turned around. The door was open and standing in the arch was another man. His brown robes were tied with some rope and in his hand was a candle.

The man in the shadows was no longer concealed in darkness, however that was not the only thing.

The priest jumped back in fright and horror as he laid eyes upon on young girl draped across the floor. She were pale, but her lips glimmered a rose red and her mouth was open only slightly. Her blonde hair was scattered upon the ground.

There were two little holes upon her throat. The priest thought nothing of them as he came closer to check her pulse. He raised two fingers and placed them to her neck, his eyes closed, wishing for there to be some life in the empty veil.

The door closed and the man in the shadows was gone.
