A/N: I am very much sorry, for not posting up this chapter from a long time, I had my computer moved to a different compartment in my house and it took a while to get the internet back on. I’ll hopefully try not to.

Recap: Of chapter 3:
“Oh please! You are a scoundrel, what good can you do!” The man’s eyes were very cunning, but they were also foolish. Soon the man caught up to her. His whip slashed down across her back. It pained like the sudden sting of a hundred bees.
Abigail’s tears were filled with rage, and wrath. Abigail felt another lash down her slim back. Abigail couldn’t stand it no longer. She thrashed him to the ground and sprinted across the train tracks.
She glimpsed at a nearby clammy, cave close to the old river bank. It was a good place to hide but not for long. She paced back and forth of thinking what to do. She rushed and rushed. Thought and thought. She had no intention what on earth was she supposed to do. Time was no longer here, the two men walked in the cave, one carrying a gun and the other carrying a lash.
Abigail was worried she couldn’t think. She spotted a heavy stone-aged rock, she grabbed it.
“Pffft! What are you going to do with a pathetic old rock?” The man asked her carelessly. Abigail didn’t mind what she was doing she bashed the rock on his head it was so rigid he started bleeding and he fell to the ground leaving it with a pound.
But the other man was still there, with a bullet, holding gun…

Chapter 4:
Abigail breathed a heavy, lungful of air, in alarm. “What’s the matter you scared, girly?” He asked as drippings of sweat trickled down his rigid face. “Uh…no…” Abigail said, while lying through her head. “As if!” He shouted as he set his bullet straight, just about ready to kill her to bereavement.
“No! Please no!” She shouted in horror. Abigail wouldn’t let herself down especially Lester. Abigail wondered as fast as her head could think, what would her mother do if she was her? What was Abigail thinking about she had never met her mother! But she had her in her heart, so she’d know what to do. “Don’t panic,” she whispered to herself.
But the bullet was ready.
Abigail’s eyes instantly flashed sharp into the bullet, like it was the end of her world. In fact it was going to be…
But before he could even shoot her, he sucked in a breath and fell straight to the ground. Behind him was…holding a knife covered with burgundy, red blood seeping down, while splotches of them fell to the ground, was a strange looking girl.
Abigail looked stunned in shock, and at the same time confused.
“Who…who…who are you?” Abigail asked, thinking if she should be worried or relieved. “Hello, I’m Lira, and you are?” She asked, kindly. “I’m…I’m Abigail…should I be worried? Where did you come from? This is a deserted land I walked here from miles from the train station.” Abigail explained hoping she wasn’t part of the kidnappers, which Lester’s parents might’ve sent.
“No need, to worry. I live in this cave, I was a slave back in my home country, but now I’ve escaped and settled here.” Lira told Abigail.
Abigail was comforted, now that she knew more about Lira. “Well, I’ve been waiting to go to Tennessee to find my true love Lester, but I got caught with the kidnappers. Do you mind if you could come along?” Abigail asked, optimistically. “Sure, a friend, always a good friend.” Lira replied, beaming.
“So lets…” Abigail was interrupted by a scream, coming from Lira. “What is it?!” Abigail asked, concerned. “Behind you!” Lira replied in revulsion. It was the man who got hit by the rock, he had awakened.
Abigail immediately backed away closer to Lira, grasping her hand. “You thought you were going to escape eh? Well too bad suckers!” He barked, as he snatched his lash.
“Run!” Lira shouted to Abigail. They scampered out of the cave, like mice, as prickle covered coppice, got stuck in their feet, leaving throbbing scratches. It hurt a lot but they were strong, as rock hard, at least they tried to be. “Oh no! He’s catching up!” Abigail bawled. “Quick, over there! Hide!” Lira shouted pointing to an undersized bridge, covered with thorns. Lira was to unnerved she had forgotten she still had a knife in her hand.
“Lira!” Abigail shouted.
“Shh! Not now, he’s coming!” Lira replied. “But Lira!” Abigail shouted once more. “Shh!” Lira said, infuriated. The immense kidnapper, walked away, without suspicion.
“Lira, you…” Before Abigail finished her sentence, the knife that Lira was holding struck into Abigail’s thigh powerfully. Lira gasped in anxiety.
That’s what Abigail was going to remind Lira about, that she still had a knife in her hand, and that she should be cautious.
Too late.
Although, Abigail was still alive it had caused her very ruthless pain. |
