Default Using TDP's Animator for wings on a doll - 01-20-2005, 05:10 AM

I found this at TDP's FAQ:

Q. (Question / Problem)
How can I do Wings Animation (TDP Animator)?
A. (Answer / Solution)
You can get wings to move with effects on TDP Animator.

a) Upload wings prop (no dolll, just the wings) into the filemanager
b) Use Animator and set "Effect" on wings prop
c) Select "Squeeze Horizontal" and click animate
d) When popup window appear with animated wings select "Open Filemanager", select an empty cell and click "Save"
e) Get back to your static wings prop and start animator
b) Use Animator and set "Effect" on static wings prop
c) Select "Stretch Horizontal" and click animate
d) When popup window appear with animated wings select "Open Filemanager", select an empty cell and click "Save"

now you have 3 wings props:
1) static
2) squeeze animation
3) stretch animation

e) start animator
f) set every item frame sequence to "0", set frame sequence to "1" for squeeze animation and frame sequence to "2" for stretch animation and click "Animate"

Now you should have a complete wings animation
d) When popup window appear with animated wings select "Open Filemanager", select an empty cell and click "Save"

upload the doll that you would like to use with the wings into the filemanager

start animator and select "Effect" on the doll image, set frame sequence to "1" on the cell with your complete wings animation, adjust "Shift Y" if required, select "Overlay" in "Effects" and click "Animate"

If you're a premium member (Animator is only available on premium), I would love to see a doll made by using this!

I have made one, at least I know how to use it here, but I have no clue how to post it here. If you tell me, I will post.

I suggest you upload your dolls to an image host like http://www.imageshack.us/
http://www.photobucket.com/

They provide the codes and tell you where certain codes can be used like in forums.

To post a doll you need the url (ie: http://www.imageshack.us/imagename or code.gif, .jpeg, etc.) and place it inbetween the [img][/img] tags.

Easiest way to make a doll blink, sparkle, or move is to make 2 or three seperate versions of your doll on yur paint program.

For Winking, make one regular, save it then reopen in your paint program, edit it so 1 eye looks closed, save that one under a different name. Convert to gif format, if you have the abilities to do so, then upload both "frames" to TDP's animator.
For the delay setting I use 30 like I did for my Bunny girl in my sig.

For a glittery/sparkle doll, make two dolls with white or your choice of color dots randomly placed in different places on each doll on your paint program. Again save them seperate in gif format and upload to the animator. Use 10 for the delay.

Making movement, again make two or more seperate dolls. Try making dolls with different arm props or draw arms in different positions yourself like I had done with my bunny ear. Repeat saving and uploading, set the delay time to your preference.

Hope this helps Roxy!

I must be really stupid*sighs* because it sounds so easy, yet I can't figure it out. I have two versions of my doll, the original, and the one I changed so that it looks like the eye is closed. I go into animator, set one frame on 1 and the other on 2, and make the delay 30. The only problem is that my second version is surrounded by white because I edited it in MS Paint and the doll doesn't blink either. I feel so bad for bothering you cause you took so much time to explain it...I'm sry

PS-I was trying to do it with my avatar, the foxtail ones, my aim was to make the girl wink...
Thanks so much for all your help Kimber!

Do you have a program to make the new doll transparent?

If you don't, you can download Giffy (type that into your search bar), it's a very simple bmp to gif converter program. To make your images transparent, just use your mouse and select the background color you want transparent then save the image as .gif.

It's a free download.

OK, I downloaded GIFFY and it works, and my image is transparent. Can you give me like full instructions for how to make it blink, like step by step. Because, I don't know what effect to use. I put the delay on 30, but I also don't know what to label the frames(i.e, effect,0,1,2) Im so confused.
