How do you take the white background off a doll?

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, tell me if it isn't, but anyway, how do you take the white background off a doll, like the one in my avatar and siggy?
If someone could help me with that, that would be really nice.

iaza: Free Online Image Conversion - Simple & Easy Converter (Images, Graphics, Avatars, Anime ...) use this site and upload your doll and find the button where it says transparent and then fallow their instructions

I checked for that button, but all I could find was a button that said Transparent.

That's the one. Make sure you fill the background of the doll in a colour you didn't use on the doll, such as lime green, otherwise parts of the doll will be transparent.

I tried it, but it didn't quite work for me, the background stayed the same, and the quality of the picture decreased.

Did you save the doll in MS Paint first as a png? Seeing as it works for me every time, you must be doing something wrong.

No, but I edit my dolls in Paint, is that's whats wrong with it?
