General Confusion- Popups?

I was just wondering if the site was protected against adware and spyware; for the past few days I have been getting all sorts of ads and such from somewhere, and it's starting to irritate me (especially since Mom's accusing me of sc.rewing the computer up even though 4 of the Trojans were from my brother's account, not mine, and the last 2 were mysteries).

Is it possible someone may have hidden a spyware or adware on the site?

And on my computer, I get so many pop-ups and sometimes it shuts down for no reason. And keep in mind, I have a pop-up blocker, too. However, on my family computer I get absolutely no pop-ups AND I use the SAME pop-up blocker. It's so... weird. Oh, and mine is supposed to be the better computer.

D@mn I hate pop-ups. All their stupid annoyingness... -.- (lol, annoyingness isn't a word. XD)

I've never had a Trojan stuck on my computer... None that I have opened, at least... Scary thought... *uninstalls and deletes anything unused*

I've never had this issue and I do think the site protects against it. However, some users still manage to sneak stuff in. I remember one user who once gave me a virus on here when I clicked on their profile. I'm not sure if something similar could be done with adware and spyware, but I would not be surprised.

I don't doubt that, but what in the heck could cause a keyboard to fritz on just one person's computer account? O_o It keeps skipping letters when I type.

That would probably be a virus of some type.

We've run the virusscan a bunch by now; only thing that's come up is trojans (which we've deleted, and they weren't from my account.) and a crapload of Adaware. We've emailed my uncle about it; he's really good with computers, and he might be able to figure out what's wrong. (Personally I think the keyboard is just worn out.)

i have the exact same problem when i am on this new laptop that we just bought about 2 months ago. my mom has put TONS of virus protection junk on there so i doubt it could be a virus, and how could a computer that new get a virus so soon anyway? it only happens on one game i play anyway, so it might be a bug in the game.

Okay, I'm getting a better idea of what's going on, but I still don't know where the hell they're coming from. The names of the trojans are:

Vundo
Downloader (misc. letter here)

Etc. And I also got something called DDC earlier asking for permission to access the internet; I denied it.

I rarely download stuff off the internet... Lucky me.

I think I've seen the Vundo one. Not sure, but...

However, I don't think it's from TDP at all. I haven't got any on this computer, but my other one. What operating system do you have? What internet provider? Maybe it has something to do with that?

The only thing that could contribute to this is "Personal Profiles", if you see some notification about virus or popup while on someone's profile please PM me and I will check what can be done and how we can filter it.
