Well, I'm pretty sure that you can get a slip from your parents about Mass once a month and that you don't want to go. If that still doesn't work, it'd still be remotely educational I guess, you can learn about a religion.
I'd personally never go to a private high school, the only one I can think of off the top of my head that's in my town is Madonna and they have a pretty bad reputation. The town's rich kids go there and there's a really high drug problem; last time there was a drug bust, 12 kids got kicked out. Wall-E + EVE

Now, let's look at this bit by bit. Pros first.
collages and universities usually like the kids from private schools for some reason Never seen that, to my knowledge; I went to a state school and got into college. In fact, most of the people in my classes at college were from state or grammar schools. Also, two people I know went to private school; one guy failed all his exams cuz he decided that smoking ha'sh every night was more important than studying, the other got worse results than I did, even tho my education was disrupted cuz of bullying. Universities and colleges like kids who get good exam results; the school doesn't make a blind bit of difference. smaller class sizes The school I went to after leaving the all girl's school had those; it was a small school, whereas the all girl's school was a large school. I can see how smaller class sizes can help, as you get better teaching and more attention, but it's silly to assume that it's only private schools that offer this. better trained teachers You know what happens to those who assume. Private schools are just as likely to hire bad teachers as state schools are; the private school just pays them more money to be incompetant. My mate, the one who failed his exams, had a teacher who just used to sit at the front of the class and read the paper half the time. Also, there was a scandal at a private school a couple of towns away cuz one teacher had an affair with a pupil. Whereas, the best English teacher and the best History teacher I ever had were at the all girl's school, and the best Art teacher ever at the small school. uniforms Most English schools have uniforms; it's honestly not really a problem at all. After all, when you get a job you'll very likely have to wear a uniform, or adhere to a strict dress code, so you might as well get used to it from an early age. After all, you can still wear your own clothes outside of school. my friends wont be there Most of my friends from primary school went to the mixed school in the next town. My parents wouldn't send me there cuz of said school's bad reputation. Despite things, I still made a couple of friends and kept my old friends, seeing them occasionally. I also made loads of friends from the all boy's school. Seeing as you don't have Aspergers, you will probably make more friends in school than I did. you have to go to mass once a month (im an aithiest. im only going for the education). You can opt out; just ask your parents to write you a letter. That worked back when I was at school; and people are far more paranoid about offending people now, so there's no reason why it shouldn't work. In any case, I still went to assembly after becoming an atheist. Since I didn't believe in God, listening to the bible readings was just like listening to a fiction story and singing the hymns was fun, cuz I liked to sing. people won't know me There'll be loads of other kids in the same boat. Why not get to know some of them? I expect there'll be an induction where you'll all be introduced to your new classmates, so make the most of it. Tell everyone your interests and talk to people with the same ones. In the end, it's your decision. After all, you'll be in this school for six years at least, so better make up your mind before you go. ![]() Credit goes to Spirit_Queen for my avatar and signature.

6th grade can sometimes be elementary, and 9th can be middle school sometimes. A lot of schools here are still like that.
I think that if you get in then you should go. It would be a great opportunity and it would give you a good education. If the teachers at your school are really good you might want to think about it. I think I would be more comfortable in a school with uniforms. No one can judge you then based on what you wear. I can't stand it when people are like "OMG NO WTF UNIFORMS ARE SO STUPID AND IF I WEAR ONE IM GONNA DIE OMFG!" They aren't that bad. We don't have uniforms but if that's a reason to not go, then you might not be mature enough for a nice private school. And mass, once a month? That's 12 times a year. 12 days out of 365. Um...that's not bad. Seriously. And if that's another reason to not go, that kind of strikes me as immature. Because that's 353 days of the year that you don't have to go to mass. And bringing religion to schools, disgusting? It makes you more open, and if you can't tolerate other religions no one will be able to tolerage you. just saying. |

Agreed. Basically, you get what you give out; so you want respect, then give it out. If my mum asked me to go to church with her, and it was something really important to her, I'd go. Ditto my dad to his synagogue. I really don't see what the problem is.
As for what you said; you're being a bit petty and ungrateful after I took the time to address your points. ![]() Credit goes to Spirit_Queen for my avatar and signature.

Exactly. If you want to post a thread like this, get your own board and get your friends to join it so they'll actually agree with you. I don't get why you want to join a school that has uniforms and religious practices, when you clearly hate both. It's rather strange to me, honestly, and another thing; people are giving you advice here, how about you listen to them instead of throwing stupid things at them?
