What do u think about school dress codes

My 2007-2008 planner has all the rules, including the dress code. This is ours for this year.

The following are not allowed at our school:

*Clothing with obscene slogans or pictures, or see-through clothing
*Pajamas (tops and/or bottoms)
*Hats, bandanas, scarves, head coverings, sagging pants
*Skirts, dresses, or pants that are immodest, too short for appropraite coverage, or disruptive to the learning environment
*Halters, tube tops, or other backless tops and bare midriffs, spaghetti straps or tops with less than two-inch wide shoulder straps
*Visible undergarments
*Jewelry or clothing depicting drugs/alcohol, violence, and/or weapons
*Shoes with rollers in the sole (they tear up our carpet and flooring in the gym)
*Coats/jackets in class (as in winter jackets. Remember columbine? Yeah, that was in our state. But sweaters are alright)
*Any item not listed but deemed by the administration to fall into the category of inappropriate for school

Here's mine. They don't actually enforce it, though...

* No inappropriate writing or graphics on clothing
* No short shorts (finger tip length-having your hands down to your side, thay have to go past your figertips. Very annoying and stupid.)
* No sun tops (showing midriff area)
* No underwear is to be showing (even though 'fashion trends' now are to have bra straps showing under a camisole tank top or underwear showing above baggy pants - shirts should cover)
* No mesh shirts
* No jackets worn in class (outside and in the halls only)
* No hats worn in school
* No shorts worn in the Design and Tech. room (for safety)

That's basically our rules, except our woodwork/metalwork teachers don't enforce no shorts. But I have the two-layered shirts and wear a color-combined undershirt under them, which is practically my bra, and it shows because the tank top is too big. That's why I have a tighter shirt over it. xD

If there's one thing I wish my school would change about the dresscode is the fact I can't wear half of my tanktops. They're not spaghetti strap at all; the straps shrunk to an inch wide in the wash. -___- It's been so da.mn hot here that I melt in my jeanshorts! (which go past my knees...)

Mine:
Well we wear uniform, buut,
*No wearing jumpers in hallways (WE HAVE TO ASK TO TAKE THEM OFF IN CLASSROOMS!! HOW MEAN!)
*No scarves
*And the boys ties have to be 30cm long. It helps when there's a trend to have them mini.

i hate all dress codes because i don't want to dress like everybody else and some of the school colors look stupid together.

WOW some of those schools are pretty strict all we have at our school is no hats and if you wear a skirt you have to go on your knees and the bottom hem has to touch the ground...so I think our school doesnt really have a problem with dress codes....

The only schools that make you wear a real uniform like a skirt, and a button down top for girls, and pants, and a button down top for boys is private schools. Other schools make kids wear certian colors. I think school uniforms are fair. The teachers at my school say it helps keep kids on topic, and it helps them learn.

Actually, my school's trying to get a uniform like that, Haley; plaid red-and-black skirt with a white button down top for girls, black pants, white button down top, and a red jacket for guys.

I don't think the girls have an option to wear pants. Which is completely ridiculous; it gets really cold where I live. O_o

my uniform is ridiculous
we hav to wear a green kilt
a blue blaser and a school jumper
and it cost way to much
40 quid for a kilt
40 quid for the blazer and
20 quid for the jumper
my school is an all girl school
and i hate the uniform
spesh when i walk on a windy day
and my skirt blows up
wish my uniform would change
