"Okay. To each their own, I suppose.." She smiled, then said, "I have to get back to the training grounds with Koilero, the smallest dragon. He's got a problem. He's not a hatchling anymore, but he can't walk right yet."

Shadow was practicing with her bow and arrows. She shot an arrow straight into the bullseye, then shot another one that splintered the first arrow up the centre. She wasn't used to socializing with other ppl; for one thing, she wasn't human herself. She felt distanced from the others in any case; they really believed what they were fighting for, whereas she was a mercenary fighting for nothing than the money they were putting in her pocket. But then, she had always felt distanced from other ppl, that was just the way things always went for her.
No, you don't get it, that's why I'm telling you. You think you get it, which isn't the same as actually getting it. Get it?

After awhile, Mika sighed and was ready to give up. Koilero just couldn't walk-his left hind leg was limp, and his kneecap looked like it was extremely out of place. Then, just as she started to take him back to the den, she saw Shadow and said, "You okay?"
