Clouds began to gather again, and drops of rain started to fall. One drop splashed on Nikki's head and woke her. She sat up and looked over at Jay; his face alone told her all she needed to know. She went over to him and put her hand on his shoulder. "What's the matter?" she said. He sighed and looked at her. "Nothing." "Then why the rain?" "OK, I guess that gives it away... just feeling left out." Nikki put her arms round him. "I know how that feels," she murmured. "Just hold me a bit, then we'll both feel better."
