Aza nodded, "Are you sure nothing has happened? Like the earth shaking or things moving? Nothing glowing?" He asked.

"Well, I think my vision's right; it has to be you. We've known each other for a while," Lucy said.

Adam scowled at the cups, then took out a knife and tried to pry them from the table.

[Miranda_]

"Nothing," Victor replied, stubbornly in denial. He wished he still had some money left so he could go out and buy some opium to smoke. Victor's eye fell on a packet of soft smokes on the nearby desk; that wouldn't be as good as opium, but would be better than nothing. As he was thinking this, the packet began to move of its own accord towards Victor.

Aleta buried her head in her friend's shoulder. She was certain that soon she was just going to burst into uncontrollable laughter; it was just so funny!

Lucy jumped out of the way lest he be hit by his own un-rolled cigarettes. He stared as they floated their way over to Victor. "Fµck," Lucy breathed. "Still thing there's nothing special about you? You stole m smokes."

Adam scowled, went over to one fo the open flames and heated his knife, then, finally, painfully slowly, began to melt the glue to get the cups up.

Astarte was shaking with silent laughter so hard she almost fell once or twice.

Aza saw movement from the corner of his eye and turned his head to see the packet move towards Victor, he glared and placed a hand on his hip, tail swishing in aggravation, "Victor."

[Miranda_]

Hardly able to believe it, Victor held out his hand; the smokes landed there and he took them.

"Maybe there is something in what you say," he admitted, grudgingly. "But I still am not that special. Anyway, I couldn't help save Ave; after about ten years of living the way I have, my body's completely wrecked. I'd just be a liability."

Aleta caught her friend just in time. They would leave after the people down below left; that way, they could play yet more undetected pranks.

"Wrecked? Maybe I could heal you..." Aza said, tapping his chin in thought, "It would be worth the try."

Finally, poor young Adam managed to free all the cups, and they continued with their ceremony.

"With your abilities, I'm sure we could work around that," Lucy said.

[Miranda_]

"Heal me? That's impossible," Victor replied, rolling his eyes.

"Do you have any idea of what ten years of opium addiction and prostitution does to a person? No way you can fix that much damage."

Aleta waited til the last Avian Temple worker had left the room, before she burst into frantic giggles. "Did you see Adam's face when he realised the cups were stuck?" she whispered to Star, her body shaking with mirth.

"Oh, gods, it was perfect!" snorted Astarte. She childishly clapped her hands with delight. "Oh, we should do something like this again sometime!"

"Don't say it's impossible," Lucy said, though he sounded skeptical himself.
