By now, Harley had regained his composure, especially since they were down to the moment.
"Then we pack up and leave, but I doubt you'll just lay down and take anything quietly," Cecy said, crossing her arms. The treaty went as follows: We, the Royal House of Leontus and the Houses of Lords and Representatives do hereby declare an end to the war with the people of the continent of Canis. On both sides, the tolls stood high. We, the Rulers of the continent of Felidae, have finally seen the woes of warfare. Thus, we have come to see the exigency of peace. Henceforth, we shall see thee as brothers, as a civilization needing our guidance in the ways of the world. We shall regard thee as our partners, our students, our allies. We shall take this, your nation, under our wing, mentor you and instruct you. This, our greatest of charities, we shall execute most selflessly, but to not ask for resources in return would ruin this, our perfect nation. It is with heavy hearts that we make the following demands, but, indeed, they must be met. We tried to limit ourselves, tried to keep it to minimum, and the demands are as follows: Every year, on the longest day of the ear, we expect to receive no less than 6 tons of timber, 3 of iron ore, and 1 of copper. We require some of your youngsters for safe-keeping; they will, of course, receive the best of the best in education and other accommodations. And, finally, we wish to have regular check-ins with your people, to see how progress in your future industrialization and taming goes. Again, it hurts for us to require this, but to not do so would be to mark ourselves as fools. We look forward to dealing with you in the future, and hope you do not object too strongly to our regulations. ![]() |

Phelan read the treaty right down to the end. Any beast who knew the wolf would know that his anger was growing as he read the articles, but to the unwary, his face remained a blank. When he had finished, Phelan let loose a snarl of rage, and tore the document in half down the middle. He then threw the two pieces at Cecy's feet.
"I most certainly do object to this," he ground out between clenched teeth. "You seem to be labouring under the delusion that your nation is superior. I will never agree to what is basically slavery and taxation." ![]() |

"Gods, you dont have to act like I wrote the thing myself! Besides, we lost a lot in this war; reparations are called for," Cecy snarled in reply. Having been raised the way she was, she often seemed to conveniently forget that the Cats started the war in the first place, especially since the war had been going on since before her birth.

Phelan glared back. "You surely can't be that stupid," he growled.
"You Cats started this whole war in the first place, due to your pathetic superiority complex!" Phelan told Harley in a few words what the treaty had consisted of. He wanted both the wolves with him to fully support his actions. ![]() |

Back and forth, back and forth went his eyes and head as he watched the twin pieces of paper float through the air and finally touch the ground, skidding ever so slightly towards him. Shiki didn't even know what the piece of paper was or how important it was. Sissy just took him away and brought him along.
Standing to his feet, Shiki padded down his clothes, walked and bent down to retrieve the papers. Holding them up, he placed them together and read. The first part of the... treaty... Treaty? sounded logical until he read the part about the children. His kingdom wanted to take the wolves children away? No! Oh nononononononono! Children needed their parents for support and guidance, for love and hope, and the comfort knowing they are there- all factors he never received from his parents-. He never wanted children to go through something like this! Looking up at his cousin, he frowned. "Sissy?" |

"I- no," Cecy said, scowling. She knew she ought to be reasonable, but now she was on the defensive, and that, of course, grated on her. "Alright, look, I have nothing to do with this treaty, really. I'm just here to get things settled and-" she cut herself off before she gave away that she'd never had any real training in this sort of thing whatsoever, gave away the fact that she'd literally begged to go on this stupid diplomatic trip in order to at least taste freedom.
Instead, she sat there a moment, awkwardly, then she turned to Shiki. "Yes, Shiki?" ![]() |
