"Looks like everyone should be ready," Nedakh said as he came in. "Is that the- device?" he asked.

"It sure is," Tina said.

"Huh. Nice work."

It didn't take long for everyone to be prepared for the journey. Those who had been designated the strongest carried the heavier packs, whereas the not so strong were given items such as clothing and food to carry. The Birds were told to perch on the not so strong and to hang on with claws. Amos, as a fox, had no difficulty in keeping up with the Cats and Wolves.

They set out with Nedakh in the lead, and the track started immediately to head uphill.

Phelan followed along behind his father. He found the slope a strain, but refused to slack off. He was determined to set an example for the others.

Victor perched on Tina's back, clinging on for dear life to the strap of her pack with his claws. He was glad that he didn't have to try and fly the distance; his body was still too thin and lacked the energy to be able to fly.

Taka resisted a whine; she hated going up hills. She walked side-by-side with Harley in case there were any complications.

Tina dind't mind carrying Victor; thanks to being so thin, he weighed near nothing.

Phelan hated this particular hill; it wasn't super steep, but it was fairly high and went on for a fair bit. He figured they should try and get to the top in one go, and stop for a few minutes rest to catch their breath at the top.

Nedakh also planned for that; once they got past the hill, the worst would be over.

Eventually, they reached the top of the hill.

Nedakh barked and sat tin indicate it was break time. He then took his human form to get some water; paws were hardly capable of holding a waterskin.

Phelan changed back too, and indicated that everyone else should, as well.
