Phelan went with his half sister to sort out backpacks. Obviously, the loads had to be tailored according to the strength of the person carrying it.

"Well, you're strong. Harley used to be strongest, but now he's barely middle. Daddy's strong..." Taka muttered.

"Thank you for offering to help me again," Tina said to Victor. Cecy was a little surprised by the soft, warm sort of smile she gave hm; the Tina she knew was wry and dry and had trade-marked a smirk for most occasions.

[Miranda_]

"Some of the cats will have to share in the carrying, otherwise we'll be overloaded," Phelan said.

"Felina and Damien could probably carry some."

"Cecy, too; she's gotten strong. Tina, too; I saw her doing one-armed push-ups once," Taka said. "Shiki can carry a decent amount, but he's small, like Tina, so they need smaller but heavy objet; we need larger members to deal with the bulky items."

[Miranda_]

"True," Phelan replied. Checking over in his head a list of wolves, he muttered, "Jackie and her brothers could carry some items, too. As for the Birds, I don't think any of them are going to be able to carry stuff. The strongest of them seems to be Remy, but he'll obviously have to look after his daughter and her guardian animal, so he won't be able to do anything more, even if his bird form were bigger."

"He's so taaaaaaall," Taka said. "I mean, he could give Harley a run for his money in height, but maybe he jus looks taller because he's got a skinny sorta build, like me, but all stretched out."

[Miranda_]

"Yeah, a lot like that. In any case, we ought to be trying to build them up rather than work them, so they'll be of more use to us."

[spirit_queen]

"We can do that when we get home, but we have to get home first," taka said logically.

[Miranda_]

"But we won't get home very quickly if we're overtaxing the strength of the weaker members of the party."
