"If Harley's leg is really bad," Phelan said, "He could change to his wolf form. It's easier to support a bad leg on four than on two."

Felina could hardly believe it; this handsome young man was asking her to be with him? Part of her wanted to play it safe, to stay in her lonely, cold world and not be with anyone. But her heart was telling her to take the chance and that Xaiver was genuine and would never hurt her.

"True," Nedakh said. "But when he shifts, his leg changes shape; Taka would have to reset the bone and the bindings right. Might have her do that anyway when we reach the inn."

"His leg would probably heal better if he takes his true form."

"Which is why I'll ask Taka to have him change," Nedakh said. "Ah, finally!"

The village came in sight, and most of the buildings were cabin-like with thatched roofs. A few had adopted some more modern techniques, but a fishing town like this one wouldn't really have too many of those. Fortunately, the innn/tavern was one of those more modern-looking structures.

This time he grinned and took her hand, softly kissing her knuckles. His heart was thumping as he waited for her answer, it soon turned to fluttering and relief. "I am honored that you accepted, you've made me a very happy man."

Felina felt happy herself, the first time she'd felt that way for a long time. She held Xavier's hand all the way to the inn.

As soon as they all arrived there, Victor hopped off Tina's shoulder to the ground, taking his normal form.

Xavier's hand gently tightened around her's, feeling the warmth from her hand.

Jacqualine stayed behind with Harley and Shiki, mainly to assist Harley if he felt tired and or needed help of any sort.

Harley was dead tired and shaking with exhaustion.

Nedakh lead everyone in, then went to go settle the room situation.
