"Uh-huh. But, in the meantime, Harley will be waking soon; you should be there."

"You don't know while you're awake; it's easier when you were asleep," Cecy said. "I spoke to my mother once like that."

[Miranda_]

"I'll go at once," Phelan said. "I'll find Cecy after, and tell her then."

"I never thought of it that way," Aleta said. She stopped crying.

Remy looked at the small Wolf who'd run into him. "That was obvious," he said, but not unkindly. "Are you alright?"

Taka lead Phel to where Harley was.

But by the time they arrived, he was already awake and talking to Ivory and Shiki.

"So, tonight, maybe you'll see her again," Cecy told her.

[Shmiley]

The small wolf dusted herself off and nodded, "Just fine. Are you okay?" She asked, concerned.

Shiki was holding his hand, asking him if he was okay.

[Miranda_]

"I heard about your fall," Phelan said to Harley. "Is it really as bad as Taka says it is?"

"I hope I do," Aleta said, calming down. She was no longer crying, and looked a lot better; better enough now to eat something.

"I'm fine," Remy replied, with a crooked smile. "I've had far worse than that happen in my life."

Harley nodded. "I can't feel it right now, but I remember- it was horrible, like a crocodile had tried and failed to snap my leg off and had only succeeded in crushing it."

"You should eat something," Cecy said.

[Miranda_]

"If that's the case," Phelan replied, "You will in all likelihood be permanently lame. And you know what that means; we will have to find someone to replace you as the Beta Apprentice."

"I didn't feel hungry before, but now I do," Aleta replied.

[Shmiley]

Jacqualine smiled back, blush still on her cheeks, "I just wanted to make sure. I didn't want to accidentally stab you with one of my... many daggers or you get grazed by the poisoned ones. That would be tragic." She fiddled with her hair.

"I know," Harley sighed. "But I'll live, you know? I never really liked being a warrior, anyways."

"That's good. What would you like? We mostly have meat, but we have some veggies, too," Cecy said.

[Miranda_]

"You should have said something before now," Phelan replied. "It's not as tho Ari would have minded. Anyway, we need to get back to Canis; Ari, Ulricha and Father will have to choose a new Beta Apprentice."

"You have meat, really?" Aleta gasped. "I've never had meat, not ever."

"If you did that, then I would regretfully have to kill you before I died," Remy replied, with a smile. He often made jokes like that, but a lot of people weren't sure whether he was joking or being serious.

"It would be the only thing I could do to make up for my daughter being left without a father."
