This time, the scarecrow was reduced to powder.

"Well I'll be..." Swift couldn't stop herself from murmuring, thus revealing she was there.

Twilight's dark eyes were wide with shock; talk about raw power!

Star jumped at hearing Swift's voice; he hadn't known she was there. He hoped that she had only just gotten there and hadn't overheard the rest, as he was sure that Swift would never return his feelings.

"When did you come out?" Twilight asked.

"Ah- just now, when the prince blew up the scarecrow," Swift lied firmly. "If I'd known he could do that... well, wow. That's some firepower."

Star relaxed, thinking his secret was safe. He could just use his feelings for Swift to power his magic, without her ever having to know.

Unfortunately for Star, Swift had heard and more than figured it out; for the moment, she was baffled by it, especially given her straight-forward, blunt nature; if he'd just been confused and insecure all this time, why hadn't he simply asked her help? If he'd liked her, why had he pretended to hold her in contempt? She simply couldn't understand the reasoning behind that.

But neither could she doubt that the 360 he'd made since this disaster had begun was genuine.

Her head was starting to swim a bit, but, as was her nature, she soldiered on and no one would know unless she decided they could.

"Well, that was- that was incredible," Twilight said. "Now- do you have any spells specific to you that you can try? As an alicorn and a prince, I believe that you'll have powers that you and you alone can use."

"A few," Star replied, and then listed the spells in detail.

"Wow, that's- that's pretty amazing, star," Twilight said. "Do you already know how to use them, or would you like to try them with me? I can't do them, but i can help you if you have a hard time."

"I haven't practiced them for a while, so I'd better try them out again before I try and use them against an enemy."
