"Of course, they've got enough to do without bothering about this," Melody said.

"Anyway, as soon as you can, contact this Night Wing and ask him to meet me so we can discuss sorting the weather out. Shouldn't be too hard; it's fairly good right now so all we'd have to do is make sure that all the clouds are gone."

[spirit_queen]

"I'll do so immediately," Swift said. "We can meet him now."

[Miranda_]

"That would suit me perfectly," Melody replied.

[spirit_queen]

So they went to Night Wing's house, which was an odd combination of both austere and ornate bits of decor. This was due to the completely different tastes of husband and wife, and even daughter; each got a say in how a part of the house was made.

And since Night Wing was an architect, that was no real problem; whatever kept all of them happy.

Swift went up and knocked.

"Hello?" The door was answered by Ruby, a pink earth pony with strawberry-blonde mane and tail. She was Night Wing's wife.

[Miranda_]

Melody stepped forward.

"Hi," she said. "I'm Melody, a friend of Swift's and we were wondering if your husband was in."

[spirit_queen]

"Oh, yes he is!" She spun around. "NIIIIIIIIIGHT WIIIIIIIIIING!"


"WHAT?" Came the response.

"THE MAYOR IS HERE!"

A few minutes later, Night Wing appeared. "May I help you two?"

[Miranda_]

Melody got to the point straight away. "Swift said that you could help me clear the clouds for the pointless holiday," she said.

"I've got tons to do; I've got to rehearse for my next show and squeeze in a trip to Ponyville, so if I could have some help organising the pegasi to clear the sky, it would really help."

"Oh, absolutely," Night Wing said with a firm nod.

[Miranda_]

"Thank goodness. We can start as soon as it's convienient."

[spirit_queen]

"Give me an hour," Night Wing said.
