"Of course, silly, or else the trees wouldn't grow so big."

"Oh! But it's weird to think that nothing here is scheduled; you'll never know when it's going to rain!"

"That would really suck sometimes," Clover said. "Imagine if you'd just had your mane styled, then it started raining."

[spirit_queen]

"Or you had a school project, and the rain ruined it!" gasped Stargazer.

[belladoggy]

"Or...or..." Scuttler *****ed up his face, trying to think of something. "Or you slipped in all the mud you didn't expect to be there?"

[spirit_queen]

"And then your mama and daddy would yell at you for getting gross, even though it's not your fault," gasped Stargazer in horror.

[Miranda_]

"I'll be glad to get back to Trottingham after this," Clover said, with a shiver. "Back to a normal town, where the weather is controlled by pegasi, the way it should be."

Back in Trottingham, things were carrying on as normal. No-one had missed the small group, as the strange time freezing that surrounded Sunny Town had ensured that they would not be missed as long as now that the town was back to normal, they didn't stay away long.

The town was preparing as usual for a visit from Prince Starlight, an alicorn who was supposed to look after the town, but nominally delegated tasks to the mayor. He appeared to most ponies to be full of himself and with an inflated view of his own importance, so demanded that the town welcome him with a day's holiday.

Mayor Swift Justice was a simple-looking pinto-colored earth pony of brown and white with dark blue eyes. For her mane, she had a simple bob in her natural dark blonde, and her tail was kept neatly trimmed. She was a tad bit heavier than the average pony, but don't let that fool you; she is very strong and very fast, and is not to be underestimated. For a cutie mark, she had an ionic column with a laurel wreath behind it, and she;d earned it when quoting harrassment rights to a bully of a filly who'd been bothering her.

She was known for her stern, gruff attitude, decided lack of tact, and temper. She was, however, a fair leader, and was relatively well-liked by the townsponies; unpleasant though she could be in person because of her bluntness, she ran Trottingham well, and everyone knew it.

For the Prince, she had no real tolerance; he was selfish, arrogant lazy- well, the list could carry on. Anyways, he did nothing to help the ponies of her town, and that made her dislike him above all else; other faults could be forgiven if he actually did his job, but he didn't.

Oh, no, anything he was expected to do fell to her shoulders. She didn't resent the extra responsiblility so much as his lack of caring. And now she had to throw him another of those stupid parties...

Someday, she thought to herself, someday he'll get what's coming to him...

Swift Justice

Prince Starlight lived just outside the town in a house surrounded by open country. He lived alone; he would have liked to live with a nice mare, but somehow he was too shy around mares to ever ask one to be with him. The Prince didn't like to admit such a thing, as he felt it would ruin his image, so he instead put accross a facade of seemingly being full of himself.

At this moment, he was sitting outside in his front yard, and sighing heavily. Prince Starlight, or Star as he prefered to be called, had been very lonely while growing up, which was partly the reason why he put accross such a different ponysona to his real one. He had felt left out and different among all the other ponies and still found it difficult to really relate to any of them. At least it would be an event when he visited the town...

Swift Justice was in a rush to organize things; she had to arrange for the pegasi to control the weather on a certain date, arrange to have the space cleaned, entertainment, seating, and meals set up, decorations... the list went on and on.

She felt frazzled, and she felt alone; she'd always been a loner, and she had a habit of making herself busy to help bury those feelings. She knew it was because he was so blunt, but she couldn't help it.

And, now, it was one of those awkward inbetween moments, inbetween calls an organizing, when those pangs of loneliness slipped in. she stared out her window, sighed, and got up to see if there was anything else she could do to occupy her time.
