Clover said, firmly, "We're not going to fail and we're not going to be killed. Remember that they're just earth ponies, and we've got magic and flight on our side."

"Was just wonderin'," Stargazer said, shrugging her shoulders forward.

Mitta left to wait for them at her house.

Clover turned to the others. "All we have to do now is wait," she said. "When we see Ruby finding the jewel, the unicorns will have to be ready to cast their spells and the pegasi can fly into the sky and hover above. When I levitate Ruby, you must catch her and hold her there."

Clover then turned to face Scuttler and Glory. "The moment I levitate Ruby," she said, "You must do the fog spell. We need that fog to completely cover us so that we can't be seen as we head for Mitta's house. Once we're there, Mitta will let us in and we can rest."

Scuttler exhaled, and focused. "I can do this. We can do this," he repeated to himself.

Glory's eyes flashed and she grinned. "Gotcha. I won't let you down."

Stargazer was dancing around with impatience.

[Miranda_]

Lightning nodded and said, "You can count on us."

The scene played itself out just as they'd seen it happen before. Ruby came dancing along the path, carrying the jewel.

Scuttler started to warm up his magic to make sure he'd be able to create the fog at exactly the right moment. He hoped everypony else was prepping, too.

Stargazer stretched her wings, and Glory was watching the scene before her intently.

[Miranda_]

Lightning prepared himself. At the right moment, when Ruby handed over the jewel to the orange maned pony, he flew up into the air and hoped that Stargazer would do likewise.

The magnifying glass cutie mark appeared on Ruby's flank. As Grey Hoof yelled out that Ruby was a witch, and just before the townsponies rushed at the terrified filly, Clover concentrated her magic. Her horn glowed, and Ruby was raised into the air. At first, the filly screamed but her screams stopped when she realised that the strange lifting sensation was saving her from danger.

Stargazer leapt into the air dramatically, following Lightning.

Glory waited for the moment Lightning and Stargazer were supporting Ruby, then her own horn glowed softly as she called up a pink, glittery fog to confuse the townsponies..
