Clover was excited. She was practicing the levitation spell on Lightning, and was able to lift him with ease. She'd bound his wings, to make sure that he wasn't helping her by flapping them.

Glory had absolutely perfected her confusion spell; Stargazer and Glory's sister Pumpkin Pie couldn't get to the tree in front of them even without fog to obscure it.

After that test, Stargazer wanted to show off her new flying skills; now that she'd built up her wings, she found that she loved soaring through the air, especially with Lightning, who made it extra fun.

Clover gently levitated Lightning to the ground, then used magic to unbind his wings.

"You need to fly off and tell the others that I can do it, now!" Clover said to him. Lightning nodded.

"Right away! Then we can go!" he said, before flapping his wings and flying out the window.

Stargazer was tumbling through the air, delighted with her new skills; she'd spent a lot of time practicing with Lightning. While she wasn't up to his level, she'd improved remarkably.

Scuttler had spent the past few days using what he'd been taught to turn fog pink. He had gotten really good at at it. He was working on it when he saw some pony fly by overhead.

It was Lightning. He landed in front of Scuttler.

"Clover's ready with her spell, are you ready with yours?" he asked.

"I know I am," Glory said.

Stargazer giggled and zoomed by, then attempted a landing... and mostly succeeded. She did tip forward and bit and land on her nose, however, like a gymnast that just couldn't stick an otherwise perfect landing. "Owie! Oops!" she said.

Scuttler winced when he saw Stargazer's crash landing.

"I'm good to go!" he told Lightning.

"Great; we need to get to Clover's right away, then we can go to Blanktown!" Lightning said. He'd winced too at Stargazer's less than elegant landing.

[spirit_queen]

Stargazer hopped right back up into the air. "So let's go!" she said, seeming to be entirely unphased by her crash.

Glory shook her head at the other filly.
