Luckily for Stargazer, Lightning wasn't a suspicious colt and this seemed likely enough for him to believe it.

"I guess I could show you a few of the easier flying tricks, if you like," he replied. "You won't be able to learn the harder ones til you get better at flying."

"Oh, sure. I mean, learning is super-totally a process; can't do algebra until you know arithmetic, right?" Stargazer said, not realizing that most young fillies and colts her age would have no idea what that meant.

[Miranda_]

Lightning didn't. "Can't do what until what?" he said, baffled.

[spirit_queen]

"Erm, you have to learn the basics before you do the cool stuff," she translated, deflating a little. XD

[Miranda_]

"Well, that's true enough," Lightning replied. "Come on, I'll show you some basic flying tricks."

The pegasus colt then proceeded to demonstrate to Stargazer about how to fly at a basic level including a few cloud sculpture moves and some loop the loops.

Stargazer struggled to keep up; her wings really were a little small, so she had to work harder just to stay in the air.

[Miranda_]

Once Lightning landed on the ground, he showed Stargazer a few wing exercises she could do.

"It'll make it easier for you to fly," he explained. "Your wings are smaller than mine, but that won't matter once you get your wings strengthened up. My mother was in the Cloud Chasers and she was the smallest of them all, but she was also the best. Even my father couldn't keep up with her."

"That's cute," Stargazer said. "Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome," Lightning replied. "Any time you want me to show you stuff; just ask."

"Well, I need help with more than that, anyways," she blurted out.
